Mario & Luigi: Brothership offers a charming adventure that combines classic elements of the series with new mechanics that enrich the gameplay. In the end it is "just okay", which is not bad, but the series certainly deserved much more.

With the exclusivity now over, everyone can enjoy the game. It's a great entry point for those unfamiliar with the series and who prefer a more paced, turn-based game. I hope that this way Monster Hunter will gain even more fans.

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory does its homework for fans of the series. It has several references, familiar creatures and classic systems from the series. However, there is no sense of novelty or even appeal to attract a new audience. And without this new audience, the saga may end sooner than we expect.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is, above all, a rebirth. It fixes old flaws, updates the gameplay to modern standards, and delivers an engaging story that finally gives depth to the creation of the Assassin’s Creed. Despite the repetitive side missions and the mandatory level grind, it’s a game that will reward those willing to dive headfirst into its proposal. Origins is not only a new beginning in the franchise’s chronology, but also a redemption for Ubisoft — and a gift to fans who were waiting for something great.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is a solid game with engaging gameplay and one of the most creative systems of the generation — the Nemesis System. It may not appeal to those looking for a true-to-Tolkien narrative experience, but it is highly recommended for those who want an action game with challenging combat, satisfying progression, and plenty of content to explore.

7 / 10.0 - Eliosi's Hunt
Oct 26, 2017

Eliosi’s Hunt is proof that Brazilian game development has the potential to create creative and challenging experiences. Despite its technical and narrative flaws, it is an honest and fun title, especially considering its affordable price. It is worth checking out for fans of isometric action and for those who value the national indie scene.

6.5 / 10.0 - Absolver
Oct 20, 2017

Absolver is an ambitious and original proposition, which relies on a technical and customizable combat system to stand out. Despite its mechanical merits and stylized art direction, the game lacks charisma, engaging narrative, and a more lively world. For hardcore fans of martial arts and tactical combat, there is fun to be found. For the general public, however, Absolver may seem more like a promising idea than a memorable title.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is a sequel that does everything a good second game should do: it keeps what worked, expands the possibilities and improves the overall experience. With acidic humor, sharp satire and more robust mechanics, the title is a full plate for fans of the series and also for those looking for a light, yet creative and very well-written RPG. Despite a relatively short main campaign for the genre's standards, it is a journey that is worth every minute.

8 / 10.0 - Observer
Oct 19, 2017

Observer is a visually striking experience, with a well-constructed cyberpunk setting and a solid performance by Rutger Hauer. However, the fusion of psychological horror and futuristic aesthetics doesn't reach its full potential, resulting in a game that tries to be deep but ends up being forgettable. It's a title that may please fans of the cyberpunk genre due to its setting, but it's unlikely to leave a lasting impression.

9 / 10.0 - Gundam Versus
Oct 14, 2017

Gundam Versus is a game tailor-made for fans of the franchise. With fast-paced gameplay, an impressive selection of Mobile Suits, and a clear respect for the anime's legacy, it delivers exactly what it promises: intense action, customization, and nostalgia in the form of combat. Although it lacks accessibility for new players and the performance of the online mode, its robust content and fidelity to the Gundam universe make this experience a full plate for giant robot enthusiasts.

Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition is a curious throwback to an important piece of video game history, but one that currently serves more as a museum piece than an entertainment product. For FMV fans or retro enthusiasts, there may be some value. For the general public, however, the game fails to justify its modern existence.
