7 / 10.0 - Blades of Fire
Jun 13, 2025

Blades of Fire is an action RPG that, despite not reinventing the genre, offers a robust experience for those looking to distract their minds while cutting monsters in half. The forging system is the big differentiator, ensuring a feeling of authentic progression. Despite so many positive points, the developers stumbled on important elements, such as the narrative and the variety of challenges. Still, for those who enjoy the combination of high difficulty, dark setting and visceral combat, this is a furnace worth facing.

6 / 10.0 - The Precinct
May 14, 2025

When I started playing, I was apprehensive about the bugs I would encounter, but I was surprised to find that the game's performance was solid. But as it's not all sunshine and roses, the predictable plot, repetitive gameplay, and weak secondary activities dragged the game's rating down. Still, I see the project in a positive light. If The Precinct had focused more on investigation mechanics, evidence collection, and the variety of events, it would have been a more solid product in the end. The 80s vibe and soundtrack give a taste of what The Precinct could be: a good investigative game and not just a "police GTA".

Spirit of the North 2 tried to innovate, it tried to expand, it tried to "raise the bar", but what it didn't do was become a better, more attractive game. Despite having good puzzle ideas and implementing interesting battles, these pillars alone don't support a product that fails in practically everything it does. Its gigantic, empty map and the questionable quality of its elements make it clear that the game needed more polish, and unfortunately the developers didn't see it in time.
