Critic Reviews for Formula Legends
Formula Legends is an absolutely excellent idea for a loving, off-brand homage to the sport of F1 executed with a pile of charm (and an even bigger pile of imaginative content), but its laggy handling takes some warming to and its AI racers frustrate.
Formula Legends is simply fun. The racing is exciting, the attention to detail and depth is a welcome surprise, the love for F1 is charming and hilarious, and I just can't stop playing it. Still, it's probably not as feature-rich as some might desire. It desperately needs multiplayer functionality, the modes are fairly sparse, and there are some visual hiccups. Regardless, at the end of the day, I'm having an absolute blast with this game. This is an arcade racer I plan on working into my regular rotation of long-term gaming titles.
Formula Legends is a love letter to F1, and for fans of the sport, you can't help but fall for its charms. However, it is a small-scale arcade racer, and you need to temper your expectations when getting into the driver's cockpit.
Formula Legends is a title born from a love of Formula 1 and powerfully conveys it. Graphically and artistically, it's delightful, with a unique style that blends nostalgia, humor, and attention to detail. The simcade driving model works, progression is rewarding, and the pit stop system adds a touch of originality. Race strategies, including tire, fuel, and variable weather management, make the races engaging and never predictable.

I enjoyed Formula Legends for the most part, despite all the little oddities and quirks. It's a fun game that, with a little bit more work, could be great. The developers have announced that they're working on fixes to various bugs that exist. This, along with mod support out of the box, should hopefully keep this game interesting for a while to come.
Don't let its disarming visuals fool you – Formula Legends is a pretty serious racing game at its core. The problem is, the racing on offer isn't all that fun. Add in a lack of game modes, and you're better off picking up any of the recent official Formula One games – they're more accessible and have features such as multiplayer, after all.
Stylized game that pays homage to the history of Formula racing
Formula Legends doesn't offer anything relatively new to the genre and may seem like just another indie game trying to mimic the world's premier motorsport category, but fortunately, the attention to detail in fundamental aspects such as the charmingly light visuals, as well as the simple yet deep gameplay, make it a great celebration of the passion of fans of all generations.
