Crimson Desert is a typical game that doesn't have a golden middle ground. Either the game is fantastic or you don't like it. It is clear that I am a fan of Crimson Desert and of course there are several reasons for that. Especially since it's been a while since I played a game of this caliber. You will be treated to a wonderful world of Pywell, where the atmosphere makes you gasp for breath. There is also a lot to do in Crimson Desert, and that will also provoke different reactions here. However, if you can get used to the here and there some downsides of the game and you take your time for Crimson Desert, then you will experience an adventure that will undoubtedly be engraved in the memory for a long time.

Dragonkin: The Banished had potential. I saw that during the Early Access period. Especially the Ancestral Grid system is an interesting idea, the Wyrmlings are a nice addition and the different classes are fortunately provided with the necessary variety. Unfortunately, these potential points are overshadowed by the negativity that prevails over this game. Technical problems, mainly frame drops of which cause this game to be unplayable. It doesn't reach the level it seemed to strive for. What could once have been a rough diamond now feels more like a stone that has completely lost its shine along the way. I'm not sure if they understand the Early Access system. Normally you should make the game better with the feedback you get, but for some strange reason this has a counterproductive effect for me.

WWE 2K26 is another great wrestling game, and that's pretty cool when you know that this is the fifth edition in a row in as many years. This game doesn't do much more than its predecessor, but certainly not less. It is mainly the new and sophisticated details that make the difference. The roster is bigger than ever, with more than 400 wrestlers. The gameplay feels smooth and responsive, making you always feel like victory is within reach. Unfortunately, I continue to be bothered by the hair and eye problems with the characters. During my games I also came across a lot of strange bugs. I prefer to keep quiet about The Island and the Ring Pass. Those who buy the standard version must wait until March 13 to enter the ring. Those who order one of the three more expensive editions can get started as early as March 6. Despite the fact that my interest in WWE has cooled down a bit, I still had a great time with WWE 2K26.

If you can remember one thing from this review: Code Vein II has ideas, systems and ambitions, but lacks the necessary polish, coherence and technical finish. Too many small frustrations pile up into a constant annoyance. After experiences with Lies of P, Black Myth: Wukong, Sekiro and other fantastic games in the genre, Code Vein II simply feels less sophisticated. Not because it's harder, but because I always feel like something's wrong. That comparison is inevitable and does not work out favorably here. It just doesn't click, no matter how hard I try.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 Legendary Edition is a complete, but exhaustive collection. The game itself does little wrong, but it doesn't bring a giant treasure on board either. In terms of gameplay, you've seen this before in previous parts or other games in the genre, and unfortunately often in a better way. Visually, this game is lagging behind and you can't get around it. The camera during the chaotic gameplay also doesn't work as it should. Fortunately, you are presented with a nice bundle of content, especially as a new player. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 Legendary Edition is a legendary title on paper, but one that mainly sails on autopilot at sea.

We had to wait eighteen years for a new Metroid Prime. Was it worth it? In itself yes. Despite the downsides I mention in the review, I had a lot of fun and still do. These games are just so much fun to play, and that's what it's all about. The long wait also makes it extra fun to crawl through the narrow corridors like a ball again with Samus Aran. The renovations are unfortunately a bit disappointing, but that may be because I come from the camp of the past. New players can probably really appreciate Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, given how Retro Studios and Nintendo have tackled this game. If you have never played a Metroid Prime game before, but are in doubt, I recommend starting with this one and then playing Metroid Prime Remastered.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment has positively surprised me and convinced me of a genre that I previously left behind. Although I had no interest in the Dynasty Warriors series, I have become a fan of the collaboration between Nintendo and Koei Tecmo. This is mainly because the story fits nicely with Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The game performs excellently on the Nintendo Switch 2, with impressive visuals, a pleasant atmosphere and smooth gameplay. The chaotic, but spectacular battles are very impressive, and with nineteen playable characters there is plenty of variety. Still, the gameplay sometimes feels repetitive. All in all, I end my review with a very positive feeling about the game.

I have to admit that I never thought I’d spend more than 25 hours on a Pokémon game at the age of 43, but I’ve had a blast. As a player returning after 11 years, Pokémon Legends: Z-A feels refreshing and fun. The real-time combat—the biggest change in years—feels great. Lumiose City is a fun place to hang out, but there could have been a bit more to it in that regard. There’s plenty to do, without ever getting boring. Graphically, it’s not top-notch, but the game runs incredibly smoothly. The lack of voice-overs is a bit of a letdown. If I’m not mistaken, there are a total of 230 Pokémon to collect, plus 60 Mega Evolutions on top of that, so what are you waiting for? “Gotta catch ’em all.”

Team Cherry spent a full eight years working on Hollow Knight: Silksong. You can see that in every aspect of this game. It’s a game that radiates passion from the very first minute. Hollow Knight was already a fantastic game, and they’ve refined various aspects of the sequel. It can feel merciless at times, but for me, it’s still addictive. You know going in that you’ll get frustrated and will undoubtedly curse. But those moments when you finally, after so many attempts, take down that boss: that feeling is priceless. And then you know: this is why we game.
