Control brings together what Remedy does best: a peculiar, intriguing narrative packed with layers waiting to be unraveled. Whether through dialogue, the protagonist's inner thoughts, or the multitude of collectibles scattered throughout, everything feeds our curiosity to uncover every last detail. The storyline is complemented by art direction that masterfully highlights the anomalies within the government facility, alongside fluid, dynamic, and responsive combat mechanics.

I don't know if a remake of a 2013 game was really necessary, but the fact is that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced manages to perfectly replicate the great experience provided by the original version, modernizing mechanics, bringing new features that expand the game's universe, and cutting segments that added little to Edward Kenway's journey. It is an extremely fun game, both for newcomers and those revisiting the Caribbean seas.

Following up on the events of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Rebirth takes us on an exploration of a vast world that has a lot to tell us. It is a game that addresses aspects related to the characters' pasts and prepares us to face an uncertain future, with the threat of Sephiroth looming constantly. By introducing new combat mechanics, the encounters offer a wide range of possibilities, allowing players to shape how they will approach battles. The way the title handles alternate realities, however, ends up making the plot a bit confusing to follow.

Easily being one of the most visually impressive indie games of recent years, Replaced features a cyberpunk narrative that addresses themes such as inequality and the value of life in a crumbling society that privileges a select group of people at the expense of others. Sustained by a solid and immersive atmosphere, the narrative is not exactly innovative, but it features good pacing, handles its world-building well, and creates interesting parallels between machines and human beings.

There is no denying it: Mouse: P.I. for Hire is a game that knows how to have style. The idea of combining the look of 1930s animation with a noir story starring an anthropomorphic mouse worked incredibly well. While handling a detective story that gathers everything expected from works in that genre, the game addresses the problems within the city of Mouseburg, drawing direct parallels with the situations we face in our own reality. These aspects are complemented by fast-paced and extremely fun gameplay, resulting in an arcade shooter title that can easily hook you.

Reunion delivers an adventure worthy of what Max and Chloe represent in the Life is Strange franchise. Despite them being placed in a completely different setting and context, Deck Nine managed to maintain the essence of the bond between the two characters. While trying to prevent a tragedy from happening, they find themselves entangled in a narrative that explores the mysteries and conflicts within the city of Lakeport. The plot may fall short in a few minor aspects, but it hits the mark on what can be considered the most relevant points.

Requiem brings together the best of what the Resident Evil franchise has done in recent years into a single game. Betting on two distinct gameplay styles and giving the player the choice to experience the adventure in first and/or third-person, Capcom seems to have found a perfect balance of mechanics, making the survival horror moments with Grace masterfully complemented by the action segments with Leon. This refinement is certainly the result of a deep analysis of everything the series has built throughout its thirty-year history.

Drawing several parallels with our reality, the story of Final Fantasy VII Remake captivates with the way it develops its characters and introduces us to its rich universe. The game also stands out for its stunning graphics, exceptional soundtrack, and gameplay that can be customized in various ways.

Betting on a premise that blends video games with an animated TV series, Dispatch manages to breathe new life into interactive narrative titles by presenting a consistent and exceptionally well-crafted plot that skillfully balances moments of drama and humor. As we play through the eight episodes, we follow the growth of a diverse cast of superheroes and see the resource management gameplay become increasingly complex.

With Little Nightmares III, Supermassive Games sought to play it safe, which is not inherently a bad thing, but by the time we reach the second half of the game, it becomes clear that there was room for more. The initial chapters are quite similar to what has already been seen in previous games, whereas the final two episodes strive to and succeed in delivering something new. Although the essence of the series is present, overly simple puzzles and environments with few threats are responsible for making the experience less stellar.

Not every game needs to be exhaustively large with massive maps to explore. Mafia: The Old Country seeks to streamline these two aspects, betting on a linear and cinematic approach that explores the origins of the franchise itself. Even though it is predictable in certain regards, the narrative features charismatic characters, which kept me engaged with the story from start to finish.

Stellar Blade stands out mainly for offering an extremely satisfying action experience, requiring precision from the player during combat and an understanding of the right moments to attack. The boss battles present just the right amount of challenge and are guaranteed to deliver great encounters. As we progress, we unlock new mechanics, which makes the gameplay quite varied. With RPG elements and platforming sections reminiscent of action-adventure games like Tomb Raider and Uncharted, the title is far from innovative, but it executes everything satisfactorily.

Final Fantasy XVI succeeds in building a deep narrative universe with memorable characters. Although there is a bit of monotony in the middle section, the beginning and conclusion of the story are quite exciting. Alongside Clive, we experience an emotional journey filled with surprises, depicting the ills of a medieval society marked by prejudice and a deep dependence on magic. The world of Valisthea is heterogeneous, and the game knows how to make good use of the peculiarities of each kingdom.

Remedy has never hidden its desire to make a sequel to Alan Wake: the path to making it a reality was not simple, but the final result is extremely rewarding. Alan Wake 2 is the kind of game that impresses on every level, delivering an intense journey that leaves a certain void upon completion. Starring two protagonists, we have a complex, exceptionally well-crafted plot that surprises with its twists and turns. As different as the main characters' stories may seem, they complement each other in a clever way, contributing to the construction of the game's rich universe.

When starting The Precinct, one of my biggest fears was that the game would end up becoming overly repetitive, but the developers were mindful that the game shouldn't drag on for too long. Although we are bound to a cycle of performing the same types of actions, the different shifts end up adding some variation, however subtle, to the gameplay. The fast pacing and a plot that doesn't overstay its welcome prevent the title from becoming tedious.

Actions have consequences, and this premise is addressed with intense focus in The Last of Us Part II. Set in a lawless land where threats lurk around every corner, the fight for survival gives way to a brutal journey of revenge that often makes us question what we are witnessing. Killing an infected means stopping the movement of a body completely taken over by the fungus, but taking a human life puts an end to the existence of someone who had ties to others. The plot handles this masterfully, in a way that only video games can achieve.

Having established itself as a company specialized in producing open-world games, Ubisoft reached its peak with Assassin's Creed Shadows. Beyond the beauty of the environments, the way they shift with the changing seasons is truly impressive, even affecting gameplay. There is still a degree of repetition in some secondary objectives, but there has been a better utilization of the activities scattered across the map.

This time taking control of two heroes, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 puts us in a dynamic adventure, with powerful antagonists and protagonists who face the challenge of balancing everyday life with the mission of protecting the city from any type of threat. The story progresses at a satisfying pace and features great plot twists. In terms of gameplay, Insomniac Games sought to refine what already worked well, resulting in a wider variety of options for players to decide when and how to use.

In its superhero debut, Insomniac Games delivered a title that lives up to the legacy the studio has built over the years. Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered surprises with its high-caliber narrative and fluid, engaging gameplay. Although we are in control of someone with extraordinary abilities, the game frequently makes a point of exploring Peter Parker's more human side, which I really enjoyed.
