If it wasn’t obvious already, my time in virtual Colorado via American Truck Simulator was most enjoyable. After the beauty that was the Utah expansion and also the Idaho expansion, I expected Colorado to be “more of the same” (in a good way). But to my surprise, SCS went above and beyond with this expansion to deliver what I think is the most beautiful state to date in American Truck Simulator.

Unscored - Bus Simulator 18
Jun 30, 2018

Despite its issues, I think Bus Simulator 18 is a good step forward in the bus sim genre. It doesn't have a lot of direct competition out there, but I hope this does not make Still Alive feel that it's okay to just sit back and relax. Improvements can and should be made to the game, but even so, this is a decent experience.

Nevertheless, Antigraviator is still a fast and beautiful game.

All things considered, as a $19.99 USD standalone purchase, this is easily the wildest, largest, and most ambitious expansion to grace the Forza Horizon franchise to date. It makes Horizon 3’s offering seem like a prototype by comparison. This is the production model, and boy can she drive.

With terrible controls, laughably horrible physics and broken features, Super Street: The Game belongs in once place—the junkyard.

Avoid Car Mechanic Simulator on Switch. Just download it for free on your phone if you want it that badly. But trust me, even then, your time can be spent on much better things.

If you're itching for a true off-roading simulator, then have a look at Spintires: MudRunner. It launched last year on Switch and still manages to provide a very high-quality experience with both gameplay and visuals. Ultra Off-Road Simulator basically looks and feels like someone saw MudRunner and wanted to copy it in the cheapest way possible. Thus, you're better off just going straight to the source.

3.5 / 10.0 - Xenon Racer
Mar 26, 2019

Xenon Racer for Switch needs some serious work. Do not buy it unless there's an update. If you really want this game, get it on the other platforms—it's quite good, actually. But this, at a whopping $50 dollars? Hard pass!

5 / 10.0 - Speedway Racing
Mar 18, 2020

I've played a good chunk of racing games on the Switch at this point, and Speedway Racing is by far the lowest effort I've seen yet. If it functioned properly and ran smoother, then it would at least be worthy of consideration as a compact title. But in this state, you're better off avoiding it and picking just about any other racer. Sega Ages: Virtua Racing isn't stock car racing like this, but it does have similar arcade-style circuit tracks. It's about the closest thing, and despite being one of the earliest 3D racing games ever, it's a far more enjoyable experience than this poor indie.

Overall, Gear.Club Unlimited 2 is pretty much a missed opportunity.

5 / 10 - NASCAR Heat 2

NASCAR Heat 3 provides a merely okay racing experience that's just not worth it's $50 asking price.

Gear. Club Unlimited 2 needs to be parked in a garage and just left there. If Eden really wants to turn this into something, head back to the blueprints and build something that can really compete. Otherwise, just take a detour.

Had I not played other snowboarding titles like Steep and Snowboard SuperJam, I probably would have enjoyed this more. But by comparison, it just falls short. This isn’t a terrible snowboarding game; it’s just more tepid than expected.

Again, RCTA isn’t a bad game, but the lack of any real challenge and overly-simplified design aspects may very well turn away season virtual park builders. As a result, I’m extremely hesitant to call this a simulator, as it feels far more like a casual game.

6 / 10.0 - Pilot Sports

Pilot Sports just comes off as a poor man's attempt at trying to recreate Pilotwings. It simply does not have the same level of polish.

It's not bad, it's just not great. Maybe casual/younger race fans might find some enjoyment out of it, but don't jump into this pool unless you find standing around in the shallow end to be fun.

6 / 10.0 - Draw 2 Survive
