The controls can feel clunky at times, requiring the player to lay off the accelerator if they want to fire a weapon and turn at the same time, an odd mechanic in a game about speed and destruction.

61 / 100 - Sleep Tight
Jul 31, 2018

The controls are smooth and the graphics look fantastic but it feels like it just needs more variety. In a game heavily inspired by children's imaginations, the repetition is surprisingly dull.

… for being a new game its full of  issues that shouldn't have plagued this otherwise enjoyable experience.

Dawn of Andromeda, however, makes you play the long game: enemies are virtually unable to rush you in combat as they are hindered by the same tech tree you are and this means the biggest rewards come later in the game.

61 / 100 - Shiny
Sep 13, 2016

With breathtakingly haunting audio and some nostalgic gameplay, Shiny is a wordlessly emotional story with a sympathetic hero that has all the potential to be a great experience.

62 / 100 - Metro Redux

While the games themselves are fairly solid, nothing about them stands out quite enough to warrant purchasing them again unless you are a die hard fan of the franchise.

Manticore: Galaxy on Fire is an enjoyable third-person space combat game set in a well thought out universe, pitting you as the newest member of a mercenary team investigating a horrifying event.

62 / 100 - Darksiders III
Nov 28, 2018

Darksiders 3 could have done so much more for the franchise as they branched into the Souls-like style of gameplay, however, frame-rate problems, long load times, outdated graphics, and the kind of bugs that shouldn’t be a problem anymore coupled with a lacking narrative and shoe-horned character development left me disappointed.

considering Rufus isn't much of a likable character, it gets annoying to listen to him.

63 / 100 - Windscape
Mar 26, 2019

Windscape is a delightful and charming experience. It’s like playing an Elder Scrolls game that is designed to be friendly and fun, however, for everything I found about it to be enjoyable there was something else slightly off-putting that made me think it could use just a little more time in development.

TASTEE: Lethal Tactics brings serious style and grace to some turn based chaos. With a roster of unique and colorful mercenaries, excellent level design and user friendly controls, TASTEE should find a place in the library of strategy fans.

64 / 100 - Gloomhaven
Sep 23, 2023

It’s a generally appealing game with decent graphics. Gloomhaven appears to be a fun turn-based adventure but requires a significantly higher amount of strategy than expected. Assigning unique quests to heroes, and having an ever-changing party when they finish their tasks, those are the ideas that make Gloomhaven stand out in a fun and engaging way. The actual mechanical experience feels like being asked to solve a Rubik’s cube every five minutes rather than immerse yourself in a fantasy world. For some, this might be exactly the tactical experience you want. For most, it’s more of an exercise in exasperation than imagination.

The game is hindered even more by its lack of story mode, meaning if I want to know anything about the world, pilots, or suits, I'll need to do spend some serious time with Google.
