I highly recommend playing this game with a controller of some kind, especially if you are playing on the PC like I did, as it makes the game feel more fluid as the combat system is generally just a serious of non-sensical button mashing, think Tekken but with customisable boots.

8 / 10 - The Room Two
Jul 14, 2016

The Room 2 is an ambitious sequel to a fairly small original game. The developers have pulled it off with fun challenging puzzles that will on the odd occasion have you reaching for that hint button. Overall the game was great fun and the use of audio to set the mood made it even better to play. This isn’t one to be missed if you in the market for a challenging puzzler.

This is a fast paced action game not to be missed as it was fantastic and is definitely refreshing to play. The game is well suited to be a go between to other games you’re playing as it’s so different. It’s great to see consoles being able to get in on what was a PC exclusive originally and with extra content makes that even better.

Unfortunately, the story never really got going in the game and with the slow crawl through a pretty much lifeless ship this made the game a little underwhelming. The story lasts anywhere between 2 -3 hours depending on how slow you take it and just feels too short and I’m not sure I ever really saw those stealth mechanics.

Event[0] is a visually appealing game with some great sounds to boot.

Overall the game is fun to play and as my first foray into simulation games it held my attention for a while, but I quickly noticed when things fell apart or just didn’t stand up to my ideal of what a simulation should be. I would recommend the game to anyone who loves a nice sim game but to newcomers you will quickly become annoyed with the graphics, physics and the driving.

A fun game but can get repetitive after a while. The game needs more levels to hold the players attention longer but playing against random people can actually make it a little more interesting as each one tends to play a little different.

This game is perfectly executed and I would recommend everyone go pick this up now even if you’re not into platforms it’s fun and really does feel refreshing to play. I must say the developer has done a fantastic job here everything just seems to fit perfectly in the game from the music to the artwork and gameplay. Kudos.

This game is a must play for any Batman fan and a must play for any Telltale fan. The story is different and refreshing but has the best of Telltale baked in with the decisions and the flowing dialogue. It was a pleasure to play and another shining example of great story telling in a game and had some of the best QTE I’ve seen in one of their games.

Overall, Agents of Mayhem is incredible fun, but having played Volition's other games, this title seems to be lacking a certain "panache" that their others games had in spades.

The cyberpunk genre serves as a reflection of where we're headed in society, with more and more technology integrated into everyday life at the cost of our humanity.

With the totally unthinkable scenes in the first 10 minutes of the game, to the insanity show by General Engel you really do get a feeling of just how atrocious a Nazi ruled world would be.

With it's sandbox style approach to escaping at time you might find yourself flapping in the wind and unsure what to do next. The pacing of the game has been improved since the first one too much less waiting around. The 16bit style of of graphics have also been improved the game overall looks and plays great.

4 / 10 - Baseball Riot
Jan 30, 2018

With over 100 levels, cartoony graphics, a low price tag, simple controls and humour to boot this is worth a few hours of your time but don't expect too much replayability above restarting the level over and over.

Overall the story never really grabbed me and seems underdeveloped but it's a not a story driven game, it's a game driven by gold and exploration. This game is a great port and one I would recommend any switch owner pick up as it's fun to play. The great things is Steamworld Dig 2 is already on Switch so you can go pick that one up straight after you finished the first one.

Velocity 2X fits perfectly on the switch and is a top tier indie game on that platform, it refreshing to play a game that isn't procedurally generated and you can really feel the passion that went into it's making, from it's engaging gameplay and stellar level design this game shows us all exactly what arcade shooter games can be.

Overall it's a relaxing play for people who enjoy the genre, outside of that it might be a little too scary for some people unfamiliar with this type of sim game, especially with all the number crunching. Aesthetically it's very pleasing and even the little workers are fun to watch. If you have a head for numbers or just want to try out a sim game I'd recommend it.
