Spencer Legacy's Reviews

I'm a Canadian Editor who plays video games like they're going out of style. My favourite genres are RPGs, Adventure Games, Fighting Games, and Platformers.

The Class Trial Danganronpa VR is a grand showcase of what VR can do for games outside of the horror/simulator genres.

Little Adventure on the Prairie is the worst game I have played in my entire life, and I sincerely hope no one reading this ever has to experience it first-hand.

1 / 5.0 - Past Cure
Feb 22, 2018

Past Cure is a broken and generic third-person shooter that lets its hints of originality drown in its cliché, unexplained story and its painfully glitchy gameplay.

Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back is a mess in every single possible way.

Postal 4 isn’t a very good game. It’s clunky, technically rough, and not especially funny. Fans of the series may be able to look past the issues and find some laughs in the jokes, but to me, Postal 4 just isn’t worth playing.

1.5 / 5.0 - Dawn of Fear
Feb 25, 2020

While I can appreciate what Dawn of Fear is trying to achieve, the amount of technical problems that plague the game makes it an unfortunate mess. While it occasionally manages to project the tone of classic horror games, it’s simply a broken game.

2 / 5.0 - Tokyo Scramble
Feb 16, 2026

Tokyo Scramble has some neat ideas, but the frustrating gameplay, choppy performance, and poorly-written characters hold it back from succeeding as a stealth game. I hope the more inventive aspects of the game can make a return in a more polished title down the line, as Tokyo Scramble sadly isn’t worth buying for those alone.

2 / 5.0 - Souldiers
Jun 20, 2022

While other versions seem to fare better, the Switch version of Souldiers is an unfortunate mess. Until it receives some meaningful fixes (which the developer does seem dedicated to doing, judging from their Twitter), you’re better off trying it on another console. It’s a shame, as Souldiers seems like a good fit to play on the go, but the plethora of issues make that currently impossible.

2 / 5 - Left Alive

Left Alive is a boring mess that succeeds as neither a stealth game or a third-person shooter.

No one can say that Fishing Sim World isn’t incredibly realistic. Unfortunately, this stalwart dedication to realism, alongside an abundance of bugs, makes the game a frustratingly slow slog that just inspires me to do some real fishing instead.

Monster Energy Supercross is a buggy and not particularly fun game. Outside of its stadium design and functional controls, the game is a glitchy mess that feels somewhat unfinished.

Secret of Mana has a lot of good ideas that are neutered by the shocking abundance of technical issues and bugs that make this remake almost unplayable. Though the visuals and sound are fantastic, those who want to experience this classic are much better off playing the original game.

Planet of the Apes: The Last Frontier is a mess of a title that tries to ape TellTale’s style to unfavorable results.

Reused gameplay, ridiculous audio and visual oversights, and a story that’s more bland than saltines make this one title that even fans of the anime will get little from.

While Cars 3 is technically functional, this is one game that’s best left in the junkyard.

While the gameplay can be fun in spurts, the bland visuals, overly long levels, repetitive enemies, and lack of checkpoints all make this game a Mighty Morphin’ mess.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force is a bland and frustrating take on the Metroid franchise. Though it’s a technically functional game, Federation Force is an overall disappointment that doesn’t understand what makes Metroid so great.

Donkey Kong Bananza’s DK Island and Emerald Rush DLC have the potential to be a lot of fun, but the bundle ends up being a little bit underwhelming. I wish DK Island were more robust and rewarding to explore, and the price point is a bit steep for a fairly straightforward and repetitive mode like Emerald Rush. If you’re desperately looking for more Donkey Kong Bananza to play, this is alright, but I wish it were either cheaper or more extensive in its new content.

Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact is a bit of a mess, despite some fun being present throughout. If there were better visuals, more content, and less exploitable gameplay, it would be a blast to play casually, but what’s present is simply a bit too busted to really get into.

2.5 / 5.0 - Survival Kids
Jun 10, 2025

Survival Kids can be fun to play for bits at a time, but some peculiar choices and the game’s repetitive design make it hard to recommend to most. Kids may enjoy the multiplayer aspect with friends and family, but it’s not the best game of the Switch 2’s launch library.
