Marco Cocomello's Reviews
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is an enjoyable and challenging Metroidvania game. Its refreshing setting combined with its intense combat make this journey through Mount Qaf worth the 20-hour trek. The boss fights are a real standout in the game delivering some unforgettable combat encounters.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is a vast RPG filled with a rich world to explore and a dense combat system to master. It is marred down by some dated mechanics and performance issues which at least can be improved down the line.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is a technical masterpiece and a decent narrative-driven experience. Sure, some characters and story arcs feel underdeveloped but hopefully, there’s more to come. I don’t think Hellblade II will change the industry and I don’t think we’ll be talking about it in five years, but right now, it is likely the most relevant game you can play.
Gears of War 4 is a fresh new take on the Gears series. New characters, enemies, and a refreshing new story, will be a welcome new direction for the series for years to come.
One of the best video game collections of the current console generation.
There just isn't a shooter out there that matches the fun you'll have in Blood and Truth.
In the end, Nioh is a magnificent experience that Dark Souls player will love. Is it better than our Game of the Year for 2016? No, but it is a good substitute that does a great job in bringing a new world to life in the grittiest way possible.
There has never been a better time to experience the father of all looter-shooters
F1 2016 feels more polished and refined than any entry in the series.
Even with its snail-pace plot, Days Gone manages to deliver a truly chilling open world experience.
Halo Wars 2 feels like a great addition to the Halo series, and successfully makes all the battles feel believable and relatable at the same time. Sometimes the unit restrictions might feel a bit on the low side, but the game’s core mechanics, work around this.
God Eater 2 Rage Burst is full of action, adventure, and lots of beasts to slay in the best way possible.
NBA 2K17 is a great entry in the series that continues to push its best features, while polishing up its flaws
Its action-packed gameplay, fantastic story and gorgeous visuals create the best Devil May Cry in the series and you don’t want to miss it.
Anno 1800 successfully delivers a fantastic city management game worthy of the dozens of hours you will most likely put into it.
Even if you never played the original, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is one fantastic kart racer
Concrete Genie is a short but sweet adventure. Its painting features are easy to master and extremely fun to use and there was nothing more satisfying than bringing the town of Denska back to life one district at a time. Do I wish it was a little bit longer? Yes, but the time I spent with the game was enjoyable and I will most likely go back and collect all the other goodies and paint every single wall available.
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a fantastic adventure game and the co-op mode is just an added extra feature here. The story takes a good 15-hours to complete and every floor you enter is a joy to complete. It could be one of the best games on Switch this year.
The game may have some clunky moments where the combat just feels unpolished and Cal’s jumping is a bit off, but this can all be forgiven when you realize this is the story-driven Star Wars game we have been asking for.
Naughty Dog’s questionable marketing for The Last of Us Part II makes you believe one thing is happening in the game. However, it is not the case. There’s a lot more to love here than meets the eye. While the game’s plot has some major holes in it and never actually gets anywhere, the gameplay has seen a major improvement. It is also one of the most visually captivating games on the market and at times I could not believe it was running on the hardware. The Last Of Us Part II is a game you would want to play and you should. Even if it is once. It will play with your emotions and deliver some intense inner conflict. The series is known for. It is just a pity the plot was trying so hard to be outstanding it often feels rushed and forgettable.
