Regardless of its slow pacing, at 90 minutes long Neverending Nightmares is a game complete with abstract ideas and unabashed displays of psychological hardship that we as players can relate to in some way or another
You’re faced with plenty of choices in your exploration, some of which you don’t realise have consequences until afterwards
By relying on countering it creates an almost rhythmic display as you jump from one enemy to another and rack up a hell of a combo score. It's like watching a very satisfying, very aggressive ballet… with swords
A compilation of atmospheric noises and physical triggers is acceptable, desired even, but throwing out loud noises or flashing images to get a fearful reaction is just lazy
With 32 initial levels, 12 challenges, and plenty of opportunity to unlock further maps on Endless mode, the game doesn't just end when you've completed the story
The look of this game is nothing short of stunning… Each detail is carefully designed and thought out with a charming feel to it overall
One Upon Light is a striking, beautiful game with a very unique style and crisp finish but one of the main problems I had was mixing greyscale colouring with a fairly busy environment
If Rayman Origins and Broken Age had a baby this is what I would expect it to look like… you know… if it also got slightly mutated and had Rayman questioning whether he was the father
Bithell's wonderfully witty scripts complimented with Wallace's performance is a match made in heaven; I just wish I could love it all when mixed together with the game mechanics
Every now and again we like losing because then when we win it's the sweetest victory, though with This War of Mine it probably wouldn't feel like a victory at all
