Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires is a title that, if taken in small doses, is absolutely capable of pampering and entertaining admirers of the saga and the strategic drift undertaken by the Empires strand.

Chorus is a half-successful product. The guys at Deep Silver Fishlabs have actually shaped a galvanizing combat system and supported by gameplay mechanics that are well suited to the genre of space combat shooters, but the exploratory component almost completely devoid of indications and the poor readability of the action penalize the playful system. If on the one hand we are satisfied with the work done on the narrative front, there is still a long way that the Hamburg studio will have to travel to transform Chorus into the promised product. The redemption of Nara, in short, can not yet be said to be completely achieved.

The intriguing story told by Blooming of Forget-me-not and all the news introduced in the past months by the first four episodes of the "Ancient Apostles" series could therefore represent valid incentives to return to the world of Underworld and save it once again, waiting for the fate of the gang led by the Black Swordsman to be fulfilled in the second and final expansion provided by the Season Pass.

Many years after the debut of the franchise, Big Brain Academy returns to the scene with an episode that has little new. Although delicious and fun, the exercises proposed by Challenge between minds are in fact twenty, fished out mostly from the titles published at the time on Wii and Nintendo DS.

When compared to the original, Blue Reflection: Second Light undoubtedly represents a big step forward for the guys at Gust, who once again have synthesized a compelling and frenetic playful formula. However, the progress made on the gameplay front and the unexpected introduction of a more traditional growth system are again counterbalanced by an uninspiring story, soporific and repetitive secondary activities, and a technical system dated even by the standards of the last generation of consoles.

Whether or not you're a die-hard fan of the Multiverse's most ramshackle supergroup, let yourself be enchanted by the extravagant style and personality of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and set off with them for the stars.

The technical limits of Nintendo Switch are well known, yet the aura of Kakarot expands from second to second even on the hybrid machine of the House of Kyoko, which in spite of the predictions has in fact been able to guarantee us an always fluid experience and a remarkable glance. In this case the compromises are really minimal and negligible, if put in front of the possibility of enjoying Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot even in portability.

Tales of Arise is to date the highest peak ever reached by the Bandai Namco franchise, which despite the ability to tell touching stories had never managed to shine even on a technical and graphic level. The transition to the Unreal Engine 4 and the adoption of the Atmospheric Shader have instead allowed the Japanese company to overcome its historical limits and create a delicious cel-shading, which without renouncing its identity marks a strong and evident detachment from the past.

Samurai Warriors 5 is the ideal chapter to approach the franchise for the first time and retrace the exploits of the valiant leaders who lived during the Sengoku era of feudal Japan. The greater attention paid to the story and the choice to focus the plot on the charismatic figures of Oda Nobunaga and his vassal Mitsuhide Akechi have certainly benefited the general quality of the story, which never before has proved to be as compelling and full of twists and turns.

We had many concerns about NEO: The World Ends with You. Once we arrived near the test bench, however, the product silenced most of the doubts that have accompanied us for months, involving us with an intriguing story and a combat system based on customization and timing.

The idea behind AKIBA'S TRIP is delicious and fun, but if in 2011 the product could work despite all its shortcomings and the limitations imposed by the PSP hardware, the same cannot be said for its reissue. The one made by Acquire is in fact a remastered only in name, it is no coincidence that the product has preserved all its historical technical problems, such as the mismanagement of the camera, the inaccurate pointing system, the very slow response times of the commands, the cumbersome animations, and so on.

Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is confirmed as a solid and enjoyable JRPG, as well as a respectful spin-off to the main series from which it is drawn. The product boasts an incredible variety of arrows (both in terms of monsters and equipment), a more engaging story than the original and above all an attractive and less childish visual rendering.

Still mindful of the surprising narrative, playful and artistic qualities of Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, which in 2015 managed to win a place of honor among the best strategic role-playing games of the past generation, we had high hopes for the new episode. Not only did Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny not prove to be as explosive, but the product seemed to us to be a listless more than the same, moreover suffering from technical deficiencies that were nothing short of unjustifiable.

There are several reasons that lead us to consider Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade the definitive role of the already superlative action RPG that last year saw the reborn capital of Mako Energy. If the new lighting system devised by Square Enix and the properly redesigned textures have solved the vast majority of the problems that plagued the solid PS4 version, the almost zero loading times and the 60 fps guaranteed by performance mode represent a valid incentive to return once again to the streets of Midgar and be bewitched by its beauty. As for episode intermission, the DLC has effectively reintroduced the adorable Yuffie, cementing its role within the seventh final fantasy, but in our opinion the paid content presents a rather exosive entrance ticket and far from proportionate to the low longevity.

Biomutant is a bizarre mixture of playful and narrative genres in which fantasy, post-apocalyptic, magic, advanced technology and not least anthropomorphic animals find space. If we add to these elements the many mechanics that the guys of Experiment 101 wanted to implement at all costs, such as the Aura, the total customization of the character or the incredible number of weapons that can be made through the crafting system, it is not at all surprising that the action RPG has not been able to manage too much meat on fire.

Carefully mixing the most successful features of Monster Hunter: World, the "classic" structure of the old episodes, as well as a tasty roundup of novelties and sensational improvements to the quality of life, such as canyne and thread insects, tsujimoto's team managed to synthesize an almost perfect playful formula.

We had reservations about Bravely Default II, which in the transition from Nintendo 3DS to Switch we were not sure would preserve the magic of the originals, but the final code managed to dispel most of our fears. Although the product is very derivative, as the newborn Claytechworks studio and Team Asano have not deviated much from the canons of the saga, neither as regards the classic plot and for the brand's historic combat system, square Enix's new proposal has nonetheless proved to be a solid and engaging JRPG.

The night of the monsters may therefore not be the shocking event that we all expected, especially after the achievements achieved by Lacrimosa of Dana, but a good story and the rugged gameplay of the series, here embellished with a handful of new mechanics and above all by the Gifts of mostrum, which among other things lighten the exploratory phases , however, make it a enjoyable action RPG.
