Hugging its players with a gorgeous presentation, accessible gameplay, and unforgettable message, Lil Gator Game more than deserves its place on everyone’s Nintendo Switch.

Surprisingly lengthy, and in a good way, Disney Illusion Island forms one continuous game world, where there's going to be a fair share of bakctracking in order to obtain objects and rewards that were inaccessible before. Disney Illusion Island also packs an enormous amount of collectible objects that will keep dedicated completionists around this work for many hours. Truly one for those who enjoy 2D platformers, and not just Disney fans at that.

Players will experience infernal, but very competent level design that will make trial-and-error their new way of life, and with its merciless obstacles and deadly enemies, Mr. Run and Jump will attract players looking to be pressed hard, while keeping away those who want something more accessible.

7 / 10 - Nocturnal
Jul 4, 2023

Its combat as far as the common enemies goes feels repetitive, however, and sometimes it’s best to avoid it whenever possible, and its audio design is very short, but fans of the genre have something to look for here.

7 / 10 - Graviter
Jan 23, 2023

Graviter makes the player intervene over the force of gravity across a series of levels and with its simple and welcoming interface and easy-to-learn mechanics, players will be fully prepared after just a few minutes of gameplay. Even though there aren't many reasons to revisit previously completed levels, Graviter is a great challenge that feels like a steady progression towards the end, and it imprints on the player a marvelous sense of satisfaction when the hardest levels are completed.

5 / 10 - Primal Light
Dec 9, 2022

Primal Light scores points when it comes to the visual ambiance and art style portraying a horrific, evil world. Its level design is less thrilling, though, and combined with enemies that get tiresome too quickly, the levels end up feeling like a burden, with the bosses providing a welcome highlight. Its punishing difficulty will put off less experienced players, though.

Last Encounter on the Nintendo Switch is a twin-stick shooter with a roguelike structure that puts the player exploring a hostile galaxy and if its ideas regarding upgrades and development, as well as a more careful approach to combat, are positive, the end result is a rather frustrating experience where it can become too cumbersome to pursue with upgrading the ship and where a simple mistake will throw the player all the way back.

7 / 10 - Type:Rider
Dec 1, 2019

Not many games are based on the history of typeface but Type:Rider provides a fun and well designed puzzle-platformer experience around fonts. Original and informative, Type:Rider could use a more user-friendly format for its text sections but the experience is fun and well worthy of the effort and investment.

This point and click adventure features gorgeous looking visuals and a plot so overly satirical and absurd that it's impossible not to grow fond of it. Its performance regarding player inputs falls below its quota, however, as the interaction with objects doesn't always work as expected on the Nintendo Switch but for every revolutionary or just mildly subversive player who enjoys point and click adventures, Irony Curtain will provide a welcome dose of proletarian-led entertainment.

GODS Remastered is expected to deliver something as close to the original GODS as possible and it certainly succeeds at that. Where GODS Remastered could have done a better job is when it comes to its gameplay mechanics, which are still mostly stuck in the original game's days, as the experience feels heavy and cumbersome compared to more recent games, despite the marvellous work done on its visual environment.

5 / 10 - FullBlast
Apr 9, 2019

FullBlast joins the growing wave of 2D shoot'em ups that's building up the Nintendo Switch catalogue but other than its fluid gameplay, it doesn't really provide for an intense, gratifying experience in any other way. Repetitive patterns, a dull audiovisual component and an overall feeling of doing the same thing over and over again put FullBlast in the passable efforts category.

Red Game Without a Great Name and Green Game: TimeSwapper present concepts which are welcome in the gameplay mechanics found in titles of the Nintendo Switch catalogue. This does not mean they are free from flaws, as their repetitiveness and frustration quickly show, aggravated by a less-than-helpful control system which does not contribute to a more enjoyable experience and ends up creating unnecessary difficulties.

Grim Fandango Remastered is a marvelous throwback to the original classic, now improved with visual and sound upgrades, as well as with a series of extra options that smooth its arrival in the current generation. While this is not a remake of the original, it won't be difficult for more recent players to see why this is such a cherished name in the world of gaming, thanks to its delightful mix of noir comedy, grim elements and addictive plot.

Dimension Drive does not go easy on anyone and its feature gameplay mechanic will multiply the woes of any player. If those well versed in 2D shooters will quickly grab it and hike up the difficulty level, those with less experience will beg for mercy and feel less of a bond with this game.

6 / 10 - Transcripted
May 20, 2018

Transcripted features an interesting concept that puts it in a unique position within the Nintendo Switch catalogue. Its merger of shoot'em up with a puzzle game is a successful one, even if it can start getting repetitive after a while and its difficulty can feel a bit too much but this doesn't diminish its assets, not to mention that those looking for some plot will also find something to follow here.

The Sexy Brutale is original, while not entirely unique, but it makes such an interesting combination of its elements that it's impossible not to feel its allure. It could use less trial and error to solve its puzzles and there are a bit too many moments when the game freezes but this experience is enough to put a malicious smile on many players' lips.

6 / 10 - Xenoraid
Dec 13, 2017

Xenoraid is a shoot'em up that does not fully abide by the classical rules of its counterparts. If the shooting action works fine, the game's structure feels like it's too constricting on the player with its insistence on purchasing every element for the ships, which creates unnecessary burdens on the players.

7 / 10 - Spellspire
Nov 24, 2017

Spellspire may not be the most common game out there, as there aren't many games based on typing, but this production gets it right. Thanks to its addictive progression system, players will be constantly motivated to advance and to come up with more elaborate words to vanquish the enemy monsters.

Super Ping Pong Trick Shot is not the most ambitious game around. That said, in its naked simplicity and disregard for the technical capacities of the Nintendo Switch, the game's puzzles are well designed and can get the player somewhat addicted into fulfilling its challenges. Audiovisual presentation and half of its control schemes aside, this can be a fun experience for a while.
