Starbit's Reviews
While it its plot is not the most memorable and the battles can feel too long sometimes, the game's mechanics are interesting and its comedy dimension makes everything more enjoyable.

Yooka-Replaylee refines the original with better visuals, smoother gameplay, and all abilities unlocked from the start. Worlds are fuller and more rewarding to explore, supported by strong art direction and music. Performance could be better, but it’s a charming and polished upgrade overall.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 delivers two of the greatest 3D platformers with modern enhancements. Visuals are upgraded (4K on Switch 2), menus and performance are smoother, and new options like Assist Mode and co-star play improve accessibility. The core gameplay—exploring inventive, gravity-defying galaxies—remains as magical as ever. A fitting and polished collection that honors the originals.

The story centers on a demon invasion through the Worldwound portal, and the player leads a band of heroes in a narrative rich with branching choices and character relationships. Character creation is deep and flexible, though the optional “Crusade” management mechanics tend to feel tedious. Combat lets you choose between real-time + pause or full turn-based, but pacing suffers in large battles. The Switch experience is hindered by controls not fully optimized for a controller and a dependence on stable internet.

Gloomy Eyes is a cooperative single-player puzzle-adventure steeped in a Tim Burton–style aesthetic. Set in a world where the sun has vanished and the undead rise, players swap between a zombie boy, Gloomy, and a living girl, Nena, to solve environment puzzles across 14 diorama-style chapters. Its strong atmosphere, art direction, narration (voiced by Colin Farrell), and narrative cohesion stand out, though camera issues and its short length are drawbacks.

Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island + Emerald Rush is a DLC expansion that revisits familiar DK settings while introducing a more intense, roguelike-style “Emerald Rush” mode. The island exploration feels nostalgic but doesn’t always offer deep surprises, whereas the timed Emerald challenges bring tension, replay value, and strategic upgrade choices. The technical performance is solid, with smooth transitions and mostly stable visuals. Overall, the DLC adds fun options for fans—though it doesn’t radically expand the base game.

Lynked: Banner of the Spark is an interisting and original work that blends intense combat with town building, and does a very good job at linking both experiences and making them feel part of a coherent whole. Lighthearted and fun, despite its premise, Lynked features a very friendly and colourful art style and gives its players a palpable feeling of progression that's always very welcome.

Citizen Sleeper is an RPG inspired by board games and it delivers a competent experience on the Nintendo Switch based on its dystopian atmosphere, audiovisual work, and simultaneous and involving plot lines. It does not quite make a great leap towards a larger audience, however, given its rather short length and lack of new, differentiating gameplay mechanics, which means its appeal will remain mostly within its main audience.

Lil Gator Game makes use of a risk-free experience to deliver its impeccable writing and storytelling, sending the player back and forth on quests that demonstrate the value of childhood imagination and friendship. Hugging its players with a gorgeous presentation, accessible gameplay, and unforgettable message, Lil Gator Game more than deserves its place on everyone’s Nintendo Switch.

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals does its job well when it comes to creating a mysterious ambiance, graphics and sound included, and capturing the player's attention to solve its mysteries. The downside is that its gameplay often feels too repetitive and monotonous, and a big part of its dialogue lines are uninteresting, which is unfortunate for a game that makes use of a lot of exchanges the main characters. In the end, the experience is a lot more linear than thought, but all this doesn't mean Oxenfree II cannot be enjoyed by fans of plot-driven narrative experiences with a taste for the supernatural.

Tormented Souls draws heavily from the first Resident Evil games to create a horror experience whose atmosphere, presentation and level design are spot on. At the same time, several of its puzzles seem nonsensical, the performance is rather irregular, and the game has a dearth of new and original ideas, while its lighting mechanic is far from a good implementation. While Tormented Souls is overall a good game, it falls short of expectations for those who hoped for something more.

Rainbow Skies is an RPG that features several familiar elements which will very likely appeal to players looking for an experience where they can feel right at home. At the same time, its character designs look dated, the graphics are unimpressive, and the plot is very poor, but players willing to forgive that will find a fairly good combat system, lots of content to find out, a wide soundtrack, and an overall challenging experience. Rainbow Skies isn't for a very large audience, but it has an undeniable charm for parts of the RPG fandom.

Thunder Ray brings a rare new boxing game to a Nintendo console and that by itself is worthy of praise. Thanks to a gorgeous visual presentation and a fun - if somewhat repetitive - gameplay, Thunder Ray will easily appeal to fans of boxing games who haven't had a chance to try something new for a while. There is room for improvement, however, as the difficulty can often feel very arbitrary for no reason, while the game is too short, which can both be corrected in a future follow-up, not to mention that a multiplayer mode would work wonders.

With a simple but very engaging concept, Moving Out 2 will put players finding the best ways to move objects inside and outside people's houses with a lot of learning involved when it comes to coordination and keeping within the time limit. The game is especially outstanding on local multiplayer, where hours of unbridled fun between friends are assured, thanks to the accessible but demanding controls. A true gem of fun and hilarity that more than deserves its place in players' hands.

Players can perform elaborate tricks and moves, all in an atmosphere that doesn't go heavy on pressure or stress, and they are relatively easy to pull off thanks to simple and accessible controls. And yet, The Ramp could have been more than that, it could have more tricks to perform, more arenas to discover, perhaps a bigger or longer challenge, but other than something for players looking specifically for a simple, unassuming experience, there's not much more The Ramp has to offer.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened puts literature's most famous detective out of its usual settings, this time in a world of supernatural elements in what is a remaster of game originally released in 2007. Fans of the long-running Sherlock Holmes series will find elements to enjoy here, such as the appealing plot and the interesting supernatural elements. Nevertheless, for other players the game's technical flaws, the excessive simplicity of the cases, and the lack of actual horror inspiring moments make this an unlikely candidate for players outside its target audience.

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical consists of a visual novel (despite what its name suggests) based around music and its main characters are modern interpretations of Greek gods. All of this, plus its visually appealing graphics and art style, is very much worthy of praise. Where Stray Gods strays from its qualities is when players who are less keen on visual novels find themselves limited by the available choices, as the plot allows for little deviation from the main story. As far as its execution is concerned, some of the singing moments feel inconsistent, due to the voice actors' different renditions.

This on-rails photographic adventure is mostly preoccupied with getting the player to know more about the game's settings through its fun gameplay than to instill fear, and if those players less prepared or who might be expecting something else will no doubt find it short and repetitive, those who enjoy knowing new creatures and snapping their photos will have an enjoyable experience that will motivate them to keep going forward.

Surprisingly lengthy, and in a good way, Disney Illusion Island forms one continuous game world, where there's going to be a fair share of bakctracking in order to obtain objects and rewards that were inaccessible before. Disney Illusion Island also packs an enormous amount of collectible objects that will keep dedicated completionists around this work for many hours. Truly one for those who enjoy 2D platformers, and not just Disney fans at that.

Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara is an action-adventure game that follows a different concept from its predecessor and does a very good job at creating a fun and accessible experience to both newcomers and more seasoned players alike. While the difficulty curve can sometimes feel unbalanced, Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara brings an exciting sense of exploration and the game's competition dynamic between pirates helps with making it a captivating adventure that gained its place in the Nintendo Switch.
