Super Dungeon Maker is a game that does a great service to the player's creativity with its blend of dungeon design and exploration that go very much hand in hand as part of the same experience. Most importantly, Super Dungeon Maker boasts a creative online community that keeps creations fresh, the game's longterm appeal will overall depend on the lifespan of this absolutely essential community to ensure more and original dungeon designs.

8 / 10 - Pikmin 1
Aug 16, 2023

The original Pikmin shows beyond any doubt that it's a timeless classic and one that can be easily enjoyed both by long-time fans and new players alike. The experience is pretty much intact and remains perfectly faithful to the original, in a now complete effort that sees all the main games of the Pikmin series available on the Nintendo Switch.

Faithful to the original game where it should be, renewed where it can make a difference, using a 3D world compared to the 2D original and a new, more relaxed game mode, but keeping the mechanics intact and as close to the source as possible. Not only will this remake be heartwarming material for fans of the Atelier series, it will be a charming welcome for newcomers as well.

Players will experience infernal, but very competent level design that will make trial-and-error their new way of life, and with its merciless obstacles and deadly enemies, Mr. Run and Jump will attract players looking to be pressed hard, while keeping away those who want something more accessible.

AEW Fight Forever marks the premiere of this wrestling promotion on console games and if that means Fight Forever needs to cause a great impression, the reality is this game falls below expectations in most ways. Its career mode is competent and enjoyable, but there is an unexplainable lack of high profile wrestlers on this rather expensive release, and many of its DLC inclusions should have been a part of the initial game. There's also a lack of variety and match types that won't help AEF Fight Forever make a name for itself, and the game's unimpressive visual work leaves a lot to be desired.

4 / 10 - Robo Wars
Jul 27, 2023

What Robo Wars does not manage, however, is to overcome the sense of repetitiveness that starts setting in not long after the beginning, with the players sooner or later feeling less motivated to go on. In this regard, Robo Wars does not stand above its fighting game counterparts.

8 / 10 - DNF Duel
Jul 25, 2023

DNF Duel is a 2D fighting game that features an extraordinarily accessible control system and move list that’s certain to put newcomers at ease while welcoming veterans as well. Its Story Mode could certainly have been more developed with such a rich lore, but the sharp, intuitive gameplay experience is going to fit like a glove on anyone who enjoys 2D fighting games.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sets the gold standard for what should be a sequel to one of the greatest games of all time. By combining the predecessor’s main strengths with brand new, brilliant and delightful gameplay mechanics and an enormous expansion of the game map, Tears of the Kingdom provides an experience that is dripping with the excitement of discovery and the disturbing new reality of Hyrule. It’s not easy to succeed a stroke of genius, but Tears of the Kingdom does just that. This is a gaming masterpiece for all time.

7 / 10 - Teslagrad 2
Jul 12, 2023

Richly decorated and full of detail, Teslagrad 2 goes for a minimal narrative approach, using no text whatsoever, but there's no instance where players are going to notice the absence of words. What could have gone better, however, is the combat system - or rather, the lack thereof, as Teslagrad 2 relies entirely on quick non-combat moves from its protagonist, which works good most of the time, but it could have been worked differently when it comes to the game's combat, especially the boss fights.

7 / 10 - Nocturnal
Jul 4, 2023

Its combat as far as the common enemies goes feels repetitive, however, and sometimes it’s best to avoid it whenever possible, and its audio design is very short, but fans of the genre have something to look for here.

6 / 10 - We Are OFK
May 28, 2023

We Are OFK does not propose the dynamic kind of gameplay that most games do. Rather, We Are OFK is more akin to a biopic where the player follows the tribulations of a burgeoning music group, and it knows how to deliver on that. Its characters are fun to follow, and the dialogues are well written to keep the player's attention focused. Coupled with a stunning looking visual environment and art style, We Are OFK is certain to appeal to those willing to embrace an experience that's not based on interactive gameplay. Even so, more ramifications and consequences for the few plot choices available would be very welcome.

Tales of Symphonia Remastered is an opportunity to experience one of the best JRPGs of all time. It's also an example of how not to re-release a classic from a previous generation, as this remaster is heavily affected by technical flaws and poor choices. Its downgrade in quality is clear for those who have played the original game, Tales of Symphonia Remastered should undergo an overall revision before being considered as a worthy companion to the 2004 classic.

he presentation does a marvelous job at transporting the players to the novel's settings, and at certain moments the game can feel more like a visual novel rather than a puzzle-adventure game. Some of the elements could use an improvement when it comes to adapting the game to a home console format, though, and sometimes the gameplay interruptions become too frequent.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is an absolutely magnificent spin-off that creates its own world of puzzles, action-adventure experiences, two-character control and new boss battles, while keeping the Bayonetta legacy alive and present throughout the entire game. This fantastic addition to the Bayonetta story is nothing short of fundamental to any fan of the original trilogy and action games in general.

Despite its unusual format for a Dragon Ball game, The Breakers is a great depiction of the series and its fans will find plenty to enjoy here. Perhaps it could be even more enjoyable with greater offline and single player ways to play, as it would significantly enlarge the available options beyond the online community.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a very welcome remake that successfully brings the original game's content to our day while treating it to a visual overhaul, a very fun gameplay experience (including on multiplayer) and new game modes that make this a longer and more captivating game. Another great addition to the Kirby universe and yet one more welcome contribution to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Batora: Lost Haven proposes an adventure game with plenty of hack and slash action, as well as RPG elements. To that we add a competent and encouraging plot, a dynamic combat system, and a rewarding exploration and the result is a fun and fluid game that is certain to appeal to both veterans and newcomers alike, along with major decisions the player has to take and which are set to test their moral views throughout the experience.

A Space for the Unbound combines a stunning visual world of beautiful pixel art with a plot that's rich in hard themes, and the result is an adventure game where everything is more complex than what it seems at first. Its pacing and tasks are more likely to appeal to more dedicated adventure game players, though, as the plot gets extended with acts that can feel redundant and this won't appeal to other parts of the public, but A Space for the Unbound deserves all praise for what it does well.

On the one hand, it features what is the best combat in the series, with a dynamic that will feel marvelous to its fans, as well as a new mechanic that links characters of previous games and abilities. Inexplicably Fire Emblem Engage also features a poor and overly simplistic plot that falls below those of its predecessors, as well as uninspired and dull dialogues that bring no value to the experience. Those willing to overlook the plot and dialogue flaws will enjoy a fantastic experience, which the marvelous visual style and performance only help consolidating.

Mini Motorways may seem like a simple game made for shorter sessions but the level of challenge and its growing complexity mean that it packs enough for many, many hours of entangled engagement with its gameplay mechanics. The audiovisual environment is minimalistic but suits the gameplay quite well while players find themselves more and more enraptured by the expanding cities they will have to connect in order to prevent chaos from spreading across the roads.
