Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack is a good collection plagued by a couple of mistakes. I wouldn't recommend it to newcomers (for them, the right game is clearly Drum 'n' Fun), but if you don't have enough of Don-chan and Ka-chan it can be a good way to get the band on the road again.

Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot has a lot of potential and a lot of very good ideas, but it's a very short experience and doesn't have any replay value.

7.3 / 10.0 - The Persistence
May 20, 2020

The Persistence is still a good roguelite, but it is impossible to ignore to the absence of a fundamental element such as virtual reality in the new versions of the game.

7.3 / 10.0 - KILL la KILL - IF
Aug 6, 2019

Kill la Kill: IF has a lot of potential, unfortunately the contents are lacking, despite a visually stunning combat system.

Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered shows a lot of contradictions: we can find the same amazing and never equaled free approach, but also a very old-fashioned game world that results too much empty for today's standards.

7.4 / 10.0 - Code of Princess EX
Jul 30, 2018

Code of Princess EX is pleasantly playable, finally fluid compared to the 3DS version, and the combo fans will find a very flexible game system. Unfortunately, it is also repetitive to the bone, and the visual impact on a big TV screen doesn't look so great.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is a diamond in the rough, with a limited number of colossal opponents and a lot of choices and concessions that contribute to a less rewarding challenge and long-term interest. If you are a fan of (or even just interested in) the universe created by Cygames, however, it is likely that the rich and charismatic cast of playable characters may make you turn a blind eye. Definitely a game made for fans.

7.5 / 10.0 - Ghostwire: Tokyo
Mar 21, 2022

Ghostwire: Tokyo is a game that fails to live up to its potential, trapped by a lack of ambition and an uninspiring old-school open world. The audiovisual presentation is good, if flawed, but on its own it can't elevate a short and monotonous game. A pity.

7.5 / 10.0 - Chocobo GP
Mar 3, 2022

Chocobo GP is a decent alternative to Mario Kart, hampered by the presence of such an important opponent on the same console. It lacks that flash of brilliance, that uniqueness that allows it to outdo its elusive rival, and a future that already leans towards microtransactions doesn't help. Try the Lite version, it might just win you over.

7.5 / 10.0 - Persona 5 Strikers
Feb 9, 2021

Persona 5 Strikers is a good action role-playing game, but an imperfectly polished combat system and the absence of some of the series' core elements make it a must-buy only for fans of the Phantom Thieves.

7.5 / 10.0 - Shenmue III
Nov 25, 2019

Shenmue III is a game true to the past, perhaps too much. Yu Suzuki manages to attract die-hard fans of the original game, but will hardly conquest the heart of the new generation.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode givers you a good bang for your bucks, with an original chapter as a bonus. The game has aged a little, technically and gameplay-wise, but the vision of CyberConnect 2 is still fascinating after all these years.

asteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown offers enough content to intrigue even the most hardened Rangers. It doesn't last long, but the quality/price ratio is definitely excellent.

7.6 / 10.0 - Mortal Shell
Aug 17, 2020

Mortal Shell is an interesting soulslike, affected by some not perfectly developed background ideas, combined with an extremely derivative final product. Certainly intended for lovers of the genre.

7.6 / 10.0 - Detective Pikachu
Mar 28, 2018

Detective Pikachu is a simple yet charming adventure, with a great roster of cast members and an adorable couple as the main characters. A must buy if you have kids who love Pokémon; on the contrary, if you consider yourself a true adventurer, remember that this one's a pretty easy game.

7.7 / 10.0 - Super Robot Wars 30
Nov 2, 2021

An official version of Super Robot Wars on our PCs is a long-cherished dream, but it's not an experience for everyone. Certainly not for those expecting a deep and challenging strategy game, as almost the entire experience plays on fanservice. Not to mention a roster incapable of giving back the encyclopaedic feeling that an event like the 30th anniversary would require.

7.7 / 10.0 - Metal Wolf Chaos XD
Aug 6, 2019

It's easy to understand and justify the state of worship that Metal Wolf Chaos XD has managed to unintentionally create during the last fifteen years: an insane setting, a pungent satire aimed at the American society and a good technical realization, all at the service of an enjoyable third-person shooter. However, the latter ingredient didn't age very well: Metal Wolf Chaos XD is quite easy, somewhat spartan, and the weapons fail to convey the right feedback.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is a content-rich collection, not all of which has aged well. The brilliant combat system enhances the collectible nature of the chips, never-frequent random combat and little more than adequate technical realisation may not make the games suitable for the seasoned audience of 2023.

7.8 / 10.0 - Live A Live
Jul 21, 2022

Live A Live tries to do many things, but not all of them live up to the same standard. The overall narrative is satisfying, but the stylistic discrepancy between its various adventures, combined with a certain underlying simplicity, makes the game a short adventure lacking depth, but admittedly exciting when it gets into the right gear.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes may initially seem like just another musou, but it possesses some elements that serve as a link to the illustrious Fire Emblem series. This gives it a distinct identity, but at the heart of the combat, the mechanics of the series will inexorably feel like something already seen. Great for fans, a little less so for others: if you're not afraid of a challenge, play by enabling the permanent death of fallen warriors. It will help you better enjoy all the possibilities the game offers.
