A great new take in the roguelite world. Skul: The Hero Slayer is a must-have for all roguelite lovers, with so many balanced builds and combinations. Suffers from an high difficulty spike in the first hours and a not so great level design, but it's surely worth a try.

In a beautiful mix between 2D e 3D, a little girl and her shadow show us the fragility of the human mind, between fears and anxiety. Along many psychological sessions, the two characters try to cooperate to solve a large number of puzzles based on light, shadows and gravity. A little gem.

Drawn to Life: Two Realms loses some of the series' most characteristic traits while attempting to gain new ones. The result is a mixed bag, combining interesting levels and an overall pleasant narrative department with many technical flaws, unjustified difficulty spikes and a game that often seems to aim at the wrong target audience.

Horace is a piece of art: music, story, ideas and design of the robot are gorgeus, even if gameplay and controls lack in polishness and the entire experience is a bit too long. Be read to shed tears for Horace. It'll be worth it, expecially in this Nintendo Switch version.

After two beautiful shorts, Bithell Games returns with a new take in the solitaires world. The Solitaire Conspiracy, unfortunately, doesn't fulfil its promises: the strategic part of the card game is poor and the story is far worse than the average Bithell story. The core gameplay is ok for a three hours game, but struggles to hold the replayability for too long.

A beautiful piece of craftsmanship. Spelunky 2 is all a sequel should be: polished, refined, bigger. A game of learning, a game of death, a game of emergent beautiful gameplay. Every second in this game is pure art: it will frustrate you, but in a positive way in which you will shout at the TV and then smile and retry. Just to die again, until you'll learn enough.

With its perfect controls and its intriguing mechanics, OkunoKA Madness is a love letter to all recent high-precision platforms, like Slip, The End is Nigh and Super Meat Boy. A true hardcore platform, with a lovely speedrunning twist that guides the player in a deep loop of tries and learning. A very good take, despite some too frustrating levels.

The musical dystopia of No Straight Roads is the way Metronomik uses to face the authoritarianisms as a whole. Themed bossfights and beautiful art style create a potentially explosive recipe, but the monotony of the enemies' attacks and the low quality of the platforming negatively affect the experience.

An interesting, but too short, adventure about a kid searching for hi lost dad. A very good tribute to classic LucasArts games from a promising studio. Unfortunately the ending of the game is somehow rushed, with linear progression and simplified puzzles and situations.

Spiritfarer is a game about saying "goodbye" to our friends. Its management mechanics are only a shield, behind which Stella, a ferrymaster, tries to help souls living a serene departure. But their journey is also Stella's journey, full of surprises, emotion and laughs and Spiritfarer is able to turn a death trip in a boat full of life, sounds and people. What is the afterlife? How we are reaching it? Spiritfarer answers with elegance and smartness. A precious gem.

Despite some technical issues, Necrobarista is a fresh take on visual novels world, and its style captivates the player: interesting direction and gorgeus art manage to create a mix in which the plot can arise with all its delicate topics. How difficult is to "go further" when you're already dead? Necrobarista tries to answer at that, and it's a very good answer.

Another good shot for Capcom, and finally we can play the four Mega Man Zero in their best form: we have the most balanced versions ever, for at least twenty beautiful hours. A love letter to the fans and a good opportunity for the other to know a good part of videogames history. Unfortunately the greatest extra of the collection, the Z Chaser, is not good as it looks like at first and its forbidden controls remapping ruins the experience.

Manifold Garden its a game about changing: from the changing-gravity mechanic to the high variety of gameplay, the game design defines an interesting first person puzzle game with a lot of exploration in Escher-style. A good game that sometimes just suffers a bit of emptiness due to the lack of narrative aims, but a must-have for all puzzle lovers.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is one of the most interesting survival games I've played in the last few years. With very interesting mechanics and a gameplay capable of evolving together with the brains of the apes, Ancestors lets us experience the struggles of the human evolution. Unfortunately cumbersome controls and a difficulty that easily leds to frustration partially ruin the experience.

Night Call is an interesting thriller adventure. With good atmosphere and promising mechanics, its "noir" side shows the madness and the difficulties of the nights in Paris. Sadly there are some problems with the general pacing and all the management side is poor.

Layers of Fear 2 is like a big, strange and greedy DLC of the first chapter. Despite the extreme "more of the same" feeling, in some ways here the expressionist atmosphere is even more disturbing than the painter adventure. On the other hand, however, the story is too much fragmented, answers are not sufficiently clear and the game needs more than opening doors and trivial environmental puzzles.

With interesting setting and characters, Close to the Sun starts as a piece of art, but it doesn't keep its premises due to hurried pacing and a bit superficial evolution of the story. Non trivial jumpscares and a good direction make this short game really a missed opportunity and only a decent horror adventure.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission is a must buy for all fans of the Dragon Ball Universe. It offers an incredible amount of characters, cards and missions in which you will enjoy a good strategy card offensive game. It's nth-power's fan service, but it's good fun service.

Outward has a lot of potential, from the interesting death system to the complexity of the status effects, but the entire game is full of some big problems: clunky combat system, out-dated IA and rough (and superficial) gdr elements. Outward has definitely his little audience of early 2000-gdr lovers, and it's a bit charming in some ways, but in the end it's not even average.

Return of the Obra Dinn is simply gorgeous, from the idea to the execution. Finally a gem in which your deductive skills, your logic and your patience are really important: this game doesn't help the player. With an amazing graphic art and a strong gameplay, another great game from Lucas Pope.
