Rare’s latest game has been unshackled from beta for a few weeks now, and lately, I have been trying to pioneer the PSVG Squad into playing more and more of this game to see what it offers. Some of our team members have also played the beta version of this extensively, and so they knew what most of this game offered from the get-go. Having only played it fresh from its official release myself, I have seen a metric crap-ton of what the game has to give and am now more than happy for me to give a quick judgment for you to see right here before we dig into the gritty details.
Sublevel Zero Redux is a great example of why we have come to love independent studios. The Sigtrap team attempt to bring something fresh and new to the often “too-similar” first person shooter market and the experience is worth taking a flier on.
Dragon Ball Fusions is worth your investment. As a budget release, the game offers over 30 hours of entertainment, a unique battle system and some witty banter. There are some bugs and the over-world is very unappealing, but there's enough here to get a good laugh out of any Goku fan.
Severed is well worth the cost of admission and provides a unique experience that’s hard to find. If you’re a Wii U only video gamer, I strongly urge you to pick this title up. Just know that Severed also has flaws that made the experience less enjoyable for me. Most notably the repetitive combat and tedious exploration that wears on you after the first half of game. If the story was deeper, if the world had more life to it, I think these issues wouldn’t have been as memorable.
One of the best Schmup options available on 3DS, Hyperlight EX is a fun grab for only $6 dollars but the difficulty and lean modes might turn some players off.
A dark and pixelated adventure game as arrived on the Nintendo Switch, should you play it?
Miitopia is a great entry into RPG’s for young or new gamers and can offer some laugh out loud moments. That isn’t enough to make up for the long campaign, repetitiveness, and bland battle system to warrant your $40.
It's arcady/goofy putt-putt Character customization offers tons of options Course creators is easy to use
Super Bomberman R for Nintendo Switch feels incredibly overpriced and I’d have a hard time recommending the game over many of the other Switch launch games. You’re better off to wait and find one these in the bargain bin this upcoming holiday.
