"WOULD YOU KINDLY?", Atlas - Bioshock
9.5 / 10.0 - Little Nightmares
May 9, 2017

If you enjoy dark, metaphorical games with Tim Burton-esque aesthetics then ultimately this game is right up your alley. It's a game that stays with you forever, leaving you and your friends a lot of arguments on what the game is really trying to tell us.

8.5 / 10.0 - LocoRoco Remastered
Jun 7, 2017

The game is well put altogether. It has its moments when it gets mundane since you are doing the same action all throughout the levels. But along the way, bright crisp colors, lively characters, the uncanny way LocoRoco fluidly morphs to landscapes and the charming music makes players just play without any commitments and with no pressure on the story line.

It definitely delivers fun, especially with the game’s’ voice characters. They really capture the humour in every line they say. Although the demographics was intended maybe for kids or for teenagers – young adults still can find little jewels here and there hidden on this video game.

6.7 / 10.0 - ELEX
Oct 17, 2017

To wrap up, the game feels under developed where clearly it needs more time. Graphics wise isn’t something to be happy with it. It has a lot of bugs – clearly unfinished and combat system is something you don’t want to look forward to. Trailer looked really nice but the game just failed to deliver what they mentioned in Gamescon. ELEX being acronyms of Eclectic, Lavish, Exhilarating and Xenial, flashy words but unfortunately it fell short on my expectations and I want to give it another chance but I feel like I will be wasting my time.

In general, the macabre that The Evil Within 2 brings is spectacular that times you can’t help it but admire the ‘artwork’ it supposedly brings. The adverse perception of this game: portraits coming to life, a door that wasn’t there in the first place, walking on stairs that you didn’t realize was there – messing up your sense of directions gives a foreboding horror while you explore.

I like it that missions are replayable especially if you miss to collect a certain coin, this also helps in your experience with combining different cards to have the most successful outcomes. This game is like a mashup of a card game, board game and an RPG game that blends really well together. A very solid game, it’s that little gem that needs to be known by everyone.

7.9 / 10.0 - The Sims 4
Jan 11, 2018

I would’ve wanted the Memories feature though where certain special events will leave a history trail on Sims storyline. But with clunky controls, frequent loading screens, and limited presence, this game feels more like a downgrade to The Sims 3 rather than an upgrade.

7.2 / 10.0 - Vesta

In conclusion, it is not the best indie game out there but it offers solid gameplay that keeps you entertained for hours. If you want a test on patient and wit – this is the game for you. Oh! About the two questions that had me thinking in the beginning? Find out if I got my answers to my questions and let me know what you think about the gameplay.

Overall cutscenes are stunning and using vivid colors makes it beautiful in a way. Locations for battle mode or just the map of Britannia is breathtaking. Simple combat systems although stiff and laggy but humorous conversation exchange between characters may want you to give in a little.

7.7 / 10.0 - Deiland
Mar 29, 2018

Overall this isn’t a perfect game but there are tiny and intricate details that I really find unique and whimsical. I like the fact that you are able to zoom out of the planet and do a full rotation. This is quite helpful in mushroom hunting and this also helps in strategically landing meteorites that will help you collect Crystals and foreign seeds. I liked looking at my planet from this view because I can see the progress that I am making. The fauna and trees scattered about to look like pimples on someone’s face but not gross at all. I loved the fact that there is a night/day cycle, weather changes that you can take advantage of an unlimited inventory storage. Definitely not for everyone, but players that need a casual, calm, take-your-time gameplay then this is absolutely for you.

Detroit: Become Human clearly lets my genuine emotion out of me, I wasn’t sure if I was impersonating how the character should have chosen or was it me doing those choices? A lot of those dialogues resonated with me, fighting and arguing over what I should’ve decided. I was so invested in the gameplay that every decision tends to get harder and harder – with an outcome that is so unforgiving and sometimes gratifying. This game is a twisted interpretation of an extreme reality: where segregation, racial discrimination, slavery and mental abuse still exists. I truly believe that a lot of people can identify themselves with the character at some point for so many different reasons and it shows us that wrong decisions are sometimes necessary to get the job done. The algorithm in coming up with those intricate flowchart is a masterpiece on its own. So who says you can’t learn a thing or two in a video game? It even showed me how to become more human. Don’t you agree?

7.5 / 10.0 - Beat Cop
Mar 11, 2019

If sometime before you wanted to be a cop, this is the game to have! You get to realize that it’s not all justice and donuts in the force. I love how this game downplays their dark humor. This is something your mother will not like to hear. These characters don’t talk anyway. It’s really just a short-lived gameplay where completion will only take around 7-10 hours at best. Unless you want to end every single game day as perfect as you could, then you might finish the game a little later. The Story itself is quite slow but it is intriguing enough to endure.

Hordes are definitely different and amazing but everything else is quite generic. I fear this will only leave so much and nothing more in the next few weeks.

6 / 10.0 - The Sinking City
Jun 28, 2019

The Sinking City always entails a cycle and maybe that just really how it is but still, its disappointment is the major mood when I got to that last part. What is the point of having choices then? Overall, this game has potential and my advice would be to wait until a few patches get released and maybe by then this game gets the remedy it needs.

7 / 10.0 - Sea of Solitude
Jul 22, 2019

If you are a player who appreciates great storytelling with minimal hours of commitment, this game is for you. It may not be enjoyable though for players who are seeking hardcore action-adventure gameplay. Story loops may eventually exist but the graphics, colors, voice and sound quality really makes up for it. Regrettably, the game has a lot of potential, it has a lot of feels to it. I know a lot of people out there – gamer or not can relate to the emotions that Kay portrays. I think that end credit scene is a sneak peek on what’s to come which is really exciting since this can be developed to so much more. I am really looking forward to it.

Playing this kind of adaptation is nostalgic on its own right. I have enjoyed the Universe it created in-game with those infamous film locations but it did nothing to the lore, getting to know more of the characters or outside of its original storyline. I guess I would've wanted a kind of surprise that only Players will experience since they are using another platform in getting to know this wonderful film. Playing as one of the characters is supposedly enjoyable but I find it this game lacks the excitement it is supposed to draw from their audience.

Playing with good friends over some beer and chips for a night or two will make this more enjoyable and bearable. A family can play too if guardians don’t mind the graphic content. This is the first among eight series and it is actually a good start. Really good intentions but poorly executed and I just sincerely hope they learn from this release and improves the next. Little Hope gets to be released in 2020 and it showed so much potential. I am quite excited and ready to forgive Man of Medan if the latter turns out great.

8.8 / 10.0 - The Surge 2

Some may find these types of gameplay a challenge but I find it cumbersome even with the realization I had earlier. Patience could get you so far but not far enough to probably finish the game. Moments of satisfaction are the things that I look forward to and coming up with tactics. Overall this game needs not only your patience but your ability to observe and to be bold enough to commit mistakes and still have fun.

5 / 10.0 - Bus Simulator
Sep 23, 2019

Simulated games open our minds to different real-based scenarios. Scenarios that may not be possible in our current lifetime. I love this idea for Bus Simulator, to be able to see another perspective and I will say it again, I did enjoy those drives but the faulty mechanics just gives it a major setback. Definitely there could be an improvement especially future patches may fix the button and the crashing issue.

7.5 / 10.0 - Tropico 6
Oct 7, 2019

If you want to feel how it is to be a Politician and/or into casual simulated gaming, this game is definitely for you. I don’t think this game would work on Players who love the adrenaline rush or any fast-paced game since waiting for the economy to boom takes ages. When you think you are making great progress, expenses are off the roof where you may need to abandon the game or load an earlier savepoint. You will never know what to expect from this game, the complexity not only goes into the different infrastructure available but into the resources as well. You have to play with factors affecting society’s happiness and goods production. Hours and hours of gameplay through experimentation and domino effects are worth it if you are patient enough. Overall, not a bad game at all.
