Gaming since the 90s, hoping for Mega Man Legends 3 to come out one day.

Ori and the Blind Forest was a rare gem. Combining an emotionally charged story, with beautiful visuals, and challenging gameplay. Tethering everything together was the passionate soundtrack that invoked feelings of both sadness and love. Ori and the Will of the Wisps take every concept of the original game and builds on it. Providing the same exceptional atmosphere and Metroidvania gameplay. But with improved combat mechanics, more engaging optional missions, and a deeply passionate story and soundtrack that rivals Ori and the Blind Forest. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is an outstanding sequel that both challenges and dazzles the player with its enchanting musical score and remarkable visuals. It's a shame that the most major thing holding it back is the technical problems.

You’re trapped on an alien world, your spaceship is broken, and the only way off this planet is to venture into the unknown and do your job. In any other game, this would be a bleak and dark adventure but not in Journey to the Savage Planet. Instead, despite being in a life and death situation the colorful world, toon-like lifeforms, and disturbingly cheerful AI create a lively atmosphere. Journey of the Savage Planet provides ample areas full of hidden secrets waiting to be unearthed but relies heavily on collecting items and hoarding resources. Despite the heavy collection focused gameplay the wit and charm of Journey of the Savage Planet provide a gleeful mask to cover the tedious collecting.

80 / 100 - Rad
Aug 22, 2019

RAD is a tough post-post-apocalyptic adventure that has players relying not only on skill to survive the mutated hordes but luck as well. With each new run offering randomized powerups and maps that constantly challenges the player. Adding to the difficulty is the rarity of health and making purchasable resources expensive. Despite this RAD's addicting gameplay quickly takes over. And once you get into the flow of RAD's rhythm of death and renewal you'll keep coming back for more.

Assassin's Creed III marked the end of the mainline series that started this legendary franchise. Now available with updated visuals and new mechanics Assassin's Creed III Remastered provides a much-needed facelift. Giving gamers a chance to not only experience Connor's story again but the underappreciated Aveline from Assassin's Creed III: Liberation. However, it's also plagued with many of the same issues that the original games had. Assassin's Creed III Remastered is a great way to relive these classic titles for both newcomers to the series or veterans.

80 / 100 - Days Gone
May 4, 2019

After Sony's extensive and highly acclaimed library of exclusives such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, God of War, and Spider-Man PS4 many expect Days Gone to provide an equally outstanding experience. Days Gone isn't a spectacular game. The gameplay doesn't provide anything revolutionary, with tedious tasks making up a bulk of the adventure. Where Days Gone does excel at is delivering a solid narrative of survivors attempting to find purpose in this destroyed world. Attempting to find a reason to wake up for another day of fending off humans, the infected, and their own mental destruction. But even the strong narrative is eventually weakened due to the myriad of technical problems. For every positive feature within Days Gone, there's something that negatively hampers the experience.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is a difficult and cooperatively heavy adventure that values teamwork and collaboration above anything else. The story is limited but makes up for it with challenging cooperative action. Upgrading your character and expanding your camp allows for a steady stream of rewards as you inch closer to completing each mission makes every step closer to the finale a worthwhile endeavor. The difficulty can be unfair at times but Overkill’s The Walking Dead has a solid edifice to become something great.

80 / 100 - Battlefield V
Nov 15, 2018

Since its debut, Battlefield V has been facing an uphill battle due to its poor marketing campaign. However, Battlefield V successfully captures the essence of what's this franchise such a monumental hit with fans and critics. The single-player is unexciting and serves as a passable tutorial for the multiplayer but like past entries in this franchise, Battlefield V is about large-scale multiplayer combat. And that's where Battlefield V's best moments exist, on the large maps against dozens of players in destructive warfare.

80 / 100 - Chasm
Aug 1, 2018

Much of Chasm's appeal comes from the random nature of the adventure. The procedurally generated Metroidvania world creates a dynamic situation where combat and exploration are always surprising. Twisted confinements in this underground lair littered with all matter of dangerous creatures and environmental hazards form a deadly dance of evading and slashing. Some of the random environments can link together for vexing platforming challenges and lopsided enemy variety but the tension created by Chasm's chance placement means that nothing you encounter is expected.

83 / 100 - World War Z
Apr 16, 2019

Without a doubt, it's hard to play World War Z without comparing it to Valve's Left 4 Dead series. Many of the similarities are here but Saber Interactive decided to take to those concepts and fleshed them out. Adding a leveling system and a larger variety of competitive options. It's a cooperative shooter with lots of things to kill and while that may sound mediocre it's done so well here. World War Z is all about mindless carnage as you plow through another wave of zombies.
