An acid-fueled tribute to the chiptune scene, Spectra is high on musical euphoria and painfully low on gaming excitement.
A competent if not thrilling yearly update to the two-wheeled racing franchise, MotoGP fails to deliver the excitement it's subject matter deserves.
A competent port of the mobile hit that feels lost in the living room. Stick to playing this on a mobile device.
Over ambition has killed what is a great premise for a story driven 3rd person game, regardless of it's humble beginnings.
Massively cute it may be, but this is a Kirby title that packs substance to go along with its drop dead gorgeous style.
A solid enough party game that does little to encourage solo play.
A marmite-puzzler that some will adore, and others will despise. Despite that, it's a fun puzzler.
A lovely little game that looks far simpler than it is.
An interesting, quirky puzzle game that fails to thrill despite its uniqueness
Kalimba is a fantastic, colourful little game with a unique mechanic, but it's no pushover.
A decent enough racer slowed down by microtransactions and an awful story
Halo has never looked so good. Throw in over 100 multiplayer maps and a bevy of Halo themed extras and you have a recipe for a true system seller.
Ultimate NES Remix is a match made in heaven, bringing the best parts of NES Remix and NES Remix 2 to 3DS owners.
It won't capture the attention or admiration of everybody, of course, but for those of you who yearn for days gone by, Chariot is a must see.
Racing game fans are going to be spoilt for choice in the next few months. The number of new racers and even new IPs is great for fans of the genre, but I will be amazed if any of them live up to the experience on offer in Forza Horizon 2. Its breathtaking take on the world of cars is a petrol head's wet dream.
Rain Games have created something beautiful in Teslagrad. Its opening scene alone should win some kind of award. Its mix of mind bending puzzles and unforgiving boss battles, not to mention some pretty hit and miss platforming, make it a game that will really split opinions. Fans of the genre will find a new hero in Teslagrad – but casual gamers should be wary.
Flockers is a welcome new IP from Team 17. How lovely it must have been to work on something different after so many years of putting out Worms sequels. Flockers brings new life to the A to B puzzler, with its use of new age tech and brilliant level design making it a must see for fans of the genre, and a great place to start for those who have never seen a Lemming with green hair.
The Golf Club promises a lot but falls down on its implementation. Golf fans will find a lot to like here, though, with the Designer and the solid gameplay providing an expansive experience. Unfortunately, last-gen visuals and a series of frustrating issues make this a hard game to recommend to all but the golf obsessed.
