Wolfenstein II ended up being a good experience with some problems I could not look past. The base gameplay is a lot of fun, the narrative has its own charm, and Mick Gordon's score is incredible. However, its lazy post game, poor difficulty balance, and the disappointing 2nd story act left a sour taste in my mouth. It's a good game... that could've been great.

Planet Alpha is an interesting experience. Its astonishing visuals and sound track are a treat, and end up making up for the limited gameplay, which has its moments.

After 30+ hours of gameplay, and getting the Platinum Throphy, I can say Marvel's Spider-Man is a spectacular entry for casual and comic fans alike. The great narrative and fun combat, even just swinging through the city, will keep you glued to the screen for hours. However, if you hate repetitive gameplay, Insomniac's title might get boring after a while.

Cthulhu Tactics breaks the promise of a good game with repetitive and monotonous gameplay. Becoming a victim of its own lack of ambition and a poor use of its original content, HP Lovecraft fans will be disappointed at this entry, as the game buries itself in its mediocrity.

Moonlighter is a fun and challenging game that will entertain you for a considerable amount of hours. Its visuals, melodic charm and addicting gameplay are the label of a good indie game. If you enjoy the genre, don't miss this.

Detroit: Become Human is a solid interactive narrative from start to finish and David Cage's best game yet. For 39.99€ (at the moment of writing) it is worth the buy, especially if you like the genre.

Red Dead Redemption II boasts a superb narrative, with an extensive and immersive open world full of content. Rockstar Games tells its best story to date, even though, unfortunately, the game suffers from its old controls and formulaic mission design. Red Dead Redemption's gameplay is not on par with its remaining aspects, but nonetheless, it's one of the best games of this generation.

Mechanically speaking, Devil May Cry 5 is the best game the saga has seen, for now. Unfortunately, the Art Direction - even though the game looks great - does not fit right with the game's narrative tone. DMC5 does not evolve the series forward, compared to its predecessors, but it does boast a fluid and frantic combat, that combined with some new weapons at your disposal, make this the best gameplay Dante and Nero have yet to offer, which end up overshadowing the repetitive V in the process.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is the ultimate challenge from From Software. Ashina is a treat for explorers and players who are seeking memorable fights, and enemies more merciless than ever. And after you complete the decisive test of patience and tenacity, you can add it to your gaming curriculum as one of the most satisfying moments of your adventures. Sekiro is a must-buy and one of the best games of the year.

Days Gone is a mixed bag. Oregon is beautiful, and the impact of the freakers on the world dynamics are quite thrilling. The driving and shooting are pretty satisfying, and the game has enough content to last 50-60 hours in a normal playthrough. But even though the game is fun, it is not without quite a few flaws that reduces its quality.

Remnant: From the Ashes is a good game with fun combat and a lot of replayability thanks to the variety of boss battles and equipment allied to its gameplay loop. However, some problems and some badly executed aspects (especially the level design) stop Gunfire Games' RPG from reaching its full potential.

Control boasts a challenging, satisfying and fun combat. The Oldest House is a visually stunning piece of design that'll make you want to explore and find every bit of lore about its world and the intriguing story of Jesse and Dylan Faden. Despite not being free of flaws (especially performance wise on consoles), Remedy Games was able to build one of the best games of the year.

Blasphemous is a merciless Metroidvania with a satisfying combat, despite the weak platforming, its boss fights are extremely entertaining and the art style is amazing, as it establishes a very engaging setting.

MediEvil is a loyal remake to the 1998's classic, and with that fidelity comes several issues from the PS1 era, like the aged camera and platforming. Yet, there's at least 8 hours of fun to be had with its simple combat and charming atmosphere. Which makes it a must buy for the fans of the original work.

It's hard to avoid the cliché "This game is not for everyone" when reviewing Death Stranding. It's equally hard to recommend it to anyone who doesn't like to walk a lot in video games. Even so, if you're open to new experiences in AAA games, you might be surprised, as long as you don't expect good writing and short cutscenes. Finishing the game after about 40 hours, I can say that it was mostly a solid experience with engaging, polished gameplay, excellent sountrack and stunning visuals.

DOOM Eternal is an upgrade of its predecessor in every aspect. The violent and energetic combat encounters at the sound of Mick Gordon's tracks are as fun as they are satisfying. Few games have left me this exhausted (in a good way) as DOOM Eternal. And after I finished it, I asked for more. It's without a doubt in my mind one of the best first person shooters of this generation, and a strong candidate for game of the year.

Final Fantasy VII Remake boasts an incredibly fun combat system under a fantastic soundtrack and beautiful visuals. Unfortunately, the writing does not do its narrative any favors, and the game released with a fair share of issues.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps in an emotional journey through a beautifully crafted world. Gareth Coker's soundtrack is sensational and the combat and exploration are as fun as they are satisfying. Moon Studios' new game is a must have for every Metroidvania fan, and an easy recommendation to everyone who has access to Xbox Games Pass.

Gears Tactics is a solid iteration of Gears' gameplay as a tactical game. And despite having a few frustrating moments, I enjoyed the ~30 hours I spent on it, the combat choices and strategy elements are both fun and satisfying, although the missions end up getting repetitive and monotonous with a few difficulty spikes. Nonetheless, I hope The Coalition and Splash Damage expand on this game with future DLC or a sequel.

The Last of Us Part II is a technical marvel, one of the best looking games of this gen with a phenomenal soundtrack and sound design and a gameplay loop where every encounter is suffocating and extremely satisfying. Its narrative doesn't always stick the landing, however, it is still a memorable tale about conflict and bonds between flawed human beings on a world which lacks humanity.
