'Detroit: Become Human' is the best adventure game from Quantic Dream yet
'Sea of Thieves' feels a little thin, but its unique foundation has captured our imagination.
Subset Games has delivered one of the tightest strategy games we've ever seen.
'Dishonored: Death of the Outsider' puts a bow on the first two games, and serves as a satisfying epilogue to the series.
'XCOM 2: War of the Chosen' somehow makes one of our favorite games of 2016 even better.
With a unique core game design and gorgeous presentation, 'Pyre' is our favorite Supergiant game yet.
Arkane Studios' Prey is a master class in the immersive simulation, and perhaps its breakout title for this generation of consoles.
Flinthook is beautiful, balanced retro platformer with an unnecessary roguelike structure.
'Yooka-Laylee' recaptures the feeling of the beloved 'Banjo-Kazooie', but fails to add anything substantially new or interesting.
'NieR: Automata' surprised us as a smart action RPG with a philosophical heart that continually reinvents itself.
'Horizon Zero Dawn' nails every aspect of the open-world action RPG, including robot dinosaur hunting.
We loved the original Super Mario Maker last year, and, in many ways, this is a seamless port, with a fantastic, complete 2D Mario game thrown in to boot. However, the gutted online capabilities cut this port off from a lot of what makes the game special, leaving the 3DS version in an odd position.
Dishonored 2 gives fans even more of the innovative gameplay that made us fall in love with the original.
Civilization VI is a masterpiece. It’s the best entry yet in the esteemed 25-year-old PC strategy series.
‘Batman: Arkham VR’ is one of the most immediately impressive AAA experiences to launch on the PSVR, but ultimately lacks substance.
The arena-based robot battles in 'Rigs: Mechanized Combat League' make it one of the most complete VR games you can play.
'Until Dawn: Rush of Blood' expertly exploits VR to breathe terrifying new life into classic scare tactics.
Paper Mario: Color Splash is a charming, but paper-thin RPG
While its desire to draw parallels with real-world issues lacks teeth, that criticism wouldn't be worth making if this weren't an enjoyable game. As an intricate, entertaining, and genre-bending action-stealth RPG, Mankind Divided lives up to the Deus Ex legacy. It may not quite meet its larger narrative ambitions, but it's still a hell of a good time.
‘Headlander’ is a lovely dystopian 70s sci-fi game that's strange, good fun.
