MK8 is easily a top three contender for best Wii U game. Outside of a few niggling oddities and small blemishes, the pure bliss of soaring across MK8's wonderful courses is as close to gaming perfection as it gets.

Budding game designers would do well to take advantage of Mario Maker's suite of tools, but even the most uncreative of players will be able to mine hours of playtime and fun from the work of others. Now stop reading this and go buy the thing, already. It's a keeper.

It's a stunning title that any F-Zero or hyper-fast racing fan will want to play. Shin'en continues to be a developer that delivers the goods almost each and every single time it goes up to the plate, and I really hope that this is a series fans can continue to see more installments of in the future.

I find myself extremely impressed by RMX. It takes everything about Neo and improves upon it, while also adding in new features and tweaks that make it suitable for both play at home and on the go. As a launch title, RMX boasts a level of thoughtfulness and polish that isn't often seen until well into a console's life cycle.

Ōkami is one of the highest expressions of a video game as art, further blurring the lines between the two. It's not just a delightful game, it's also a historically important one, and everyone owes it to themselves to experience Ōkami, either again or for the first time.

A lot of 2D shooters lean on being "cool" with over-the-top visuals and millions of bullets on-screen, but Rogue Aces instead goes for a lighter tone and places the emphasis squarely on the oldest, most reliable thing in the video game industry: perfect play control.

Remastered is a stunning addition to the Switch library that absolutely shouldn't be missed. Puzzle fans will likely delight the most from the game's mechanics, but even those who have been turned off by puzzle titles in the past should consider giving Lumines Remastered a look, as it does enough different to warrant any gamer's attention.
