Mutant Mudds Deluxe is a 12-bit action platformer with 80 levels full of pixels and platforming fun! Our hero, Max, may be just a 2D sprite, but he can leap into the third dimension by jetting between the background and the foreground playfields with his trusty jetpack in this unique dimensionally-woven experience. Armed with a heavy-duty water cannon, Max has what he needs to vanquish his long-term nemesi: the Mutant Mudds. Max sets out from a secret hideout in the jungle to locate the meteor and destroy it for good! Run, jump, hover, and blast your way across five new vibrant worlds, presented with colourful neo-retro pixel art and sublime chiptune music. Defy the laws of the second dimension by leaping between foreground and background layers, dispensing muddy justice with your faithful water cannon. Utilise your trusty power-ups to traverse tricky obstacles and gain access to special secret levels. MUDD BLOCKS Max’s mudd-busting work is never done! A muddy horde of mutants is rising up from block form!? Throw water bombs down to wash them away. You can even use the multicoloured mudd blocks against themselves. Anything goes! Go solo and best your high score or team up with a friend for two player co-op or head-to-head versus fun. You can even try one of the other unique modes, such as Numbers and Rescue to put your block-busting skills to the test.

Overall, Mutant Mudds Collection is well worth its budget price tag. It is a killer title to have if you're a retro-fan like myself, but it's also worth the buy for its array of gameplay options. The collection as a whole was obviously given care, and the fact is made obvious by its sleek presentation. Its visuals are incredibly gorgeous, the unique chiptune sounds will have you jamming in no time, and the gameplay is perfect – Mutant Mudds Collection is a stand-out title on the Nintendo Switch eShop.

My time spent playing Mutant Mudds collection has been overwhelmingly positive. The collection offers a great mix of fun platforming at different levels of difficulty. Having all three games in one collection is certainly a great plus.

What I didn't expect was to get Mutant Mudds, Mutant Mudds Super Challenge, and Mudd Blocks all in one convenient package. With the great gameplay of three games present and brand new leaderboards for each game, this is the ultimately collection for anyone interested in the Mudds franchise. The lack of stereoscopic 3D is the only blemish, but hardly enough to diminish an otherwise fantastic offering.
