Overall, Guitar Hero Live is a huge jump forward for the music game genre while at the same time abandoning some of the things we loved about music games. If you can get past some of the things that are gone and embrace the new ideas, you'll have a great time playing fantasy rock star.
Rock Band 4 picks up where Rock Band 3 left off but with new features, new instruments, new music, and an available music library that will give you plenty playing time. Plus, if you have your old wireless peripherals from previous Rock Band games, you'll be able to use with them Rock Band 4. Harmonix loves us.
I can honestly say that I have never played a shooter as much as I have played Destiny. Not Call of Duty, not Halo, Not Far Cry or Battlefield. I've clocked in hundreds of hours in the game since its release last year (I wouldn't be surprised if there are people who have thousands), and with The Taken King it looks like it'll just continue to increase.
While the gameplay is solid and Avalanche Studios did a great job digitally creating the Wasteland, Mad Max starts off slow in the story department and may turn off potential players. However, if you stick with it, you'll finally get the Mad Max you were expecting.
The Batman Arkham trilogy from Rocksteady Studios ends with Batman: Arkham Knight and the result is a fantastic adventure in the gritty streets of Gotham, clashing with super villains and saving a city you love. Be the Batman, indeed.
Is Far Cry 4 the best game in the series? Tough to say, but it's definitely a step forward in terms of story, gameplay, and art. You'll be spending a lot of time Kyrat this holiday season.
Sledgehammer's first full-time foray into a Call of Duty game is a success. Advanced Warfare has great ideas that were executed well that will leave the players pumping with adrenaline throughout the game.
Skylanders: Trap Team is a cute game for kids with a fun story, interesting characters, and plenty of heroes and now traps, to keep parents running back and forth from the toy store.
Alien: Isolation is an experience that takes you back to the vibe of the first film, where humans are powerless against the alien and must find a different way to win against it. For the die-hard Alien and survival horror fan, you won't disappointed. But if you're looking for the action of a first-person shooter, or even a stealth action game, you might be disappointed with the game's slow pacing.
The game is packed with so much content that it'll keep you busy for hours on end. And it's even more engrossing when you're playing with friends.
Overall, The Swapper is a fun, well-designed puzzler that I would recommend playing through at least once. If you can catch it for sale at the PlayStation Store, grab it quickly.
In the end, Valiant Hearts: The Great War was an enjoyable experience with a satisfying story. The game doesn't include the years when the United States joined World War I, but at the end of the game there's an opening to include that story for a possible sequel.
Does Watch Dogs live up to the hype? It depends on how hyped up you were. For me, the game wasn't a disappointment at all. It's a fun, addictive game that will offer hours upon hours of playing time. The hacking aspect is the shining light of the game, and is done very well. With that said, I didn't feel like it was breaking much new ground in terms of gameplay or story. Watch Dogs is worth the investment, but don't expect something that reinvents the wheel.
Child of Light is an excellent mix of nostalgic RPG gameplay and modern art with a story that's accessible to pretty much anyone.
