7.3 / 10.0 - Anthem
Mar 7, 2019

There's a good game somewhere in Anthem. Somewhere behind the loading screens, asking for meaningful endgame content. Hopefully in the next few months, when BioWare starts launching its post-launch content and quality of life fixes, the game will become what it's meant to be.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is what we all expected and then some. The game delivers on the fantasy of living as an outlaw in the old west, and may be one of the best open-world games ever made. It's certainly Rockstar Games' best game.

If you're a fan of the Far Cry series, Far Cry 5 is a definite must-have. The gameplay is familiar, but there are shiny new features that are a blast to play with. 7.8 / 10.0 - Mafia 3

If anything, I think the game is worth checking out for the story alone. It's unfortunate that the gameplay is so much of a slog that some players may not think the story is worth the trouble. However, if you have the time, the extra coin, and love mob stories, this tale has a satisfying end.

I can't say that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is Naughty Dog's best game (that honor goes to The Last of Us, hands down), but it is the best game in the Uncharted series with probably the best and most appropriate and comfortable ending to a series. If you own a PlayStation 4, the game is a must have. If you're looking to buy a PlayStation 4, this should probably be the first game you get.

While this is a different direction for the Far Cry series, Far Cry Primal is an excellent entry into the franchise. While 2013's Tomb Raider reboot was great, fans of the series were pining for more tombs to explore and relics to collect. Crystal Dynamics addressed that and then some in Rise of the Tomb Raider, improving on its upgrade system, telling a fun story, more puzzles, and adding bears, tigers, cheetahs, and more packs of wolves to kill and skin. Just like we remember.

Halo 5: Guardians is the second game in what looks to be a trilogy from 343 Industries and for the most part, the developer is doing a good job of handling the franchise with care. We'll be sticking around for the next Halo title from 343.
