If the developers come through with an update that refines the state of this remake, then maybe then the future for Panzer Dragoon is bright. Maybe then, the world will finally get to eventually play Panzer Dragoon Sagas.

This is a substantial package of content that will be challenging to overcome. It won’t surpass similar games of this ilk, but is an interesting experiment in the genre that shows the possibilities of what can be done in turn-based gameplay.

The annoying self-aware memes can be ignored, and if you don’t care for Doom guy depicted in third person cutscenes, they are easily skipped. Doom Eternal lives up to its name in proving that it is going to be here for a long time.

MediEvil 1998 was not perfect, and so many of its imperfections are still present in the remake. For some people, it is only the graphics that matter. This kind of shallow attempt at remaking a classic makes for an underwhelming experience.

The kind of challenge where things are so boring but you keep tuning out, defines the Rack N Ruin experience. It is not a buggy or glitchy mess, and most things work as intended. The problem with Rack N Ruin is that it sets such a low bar for itself and whoever picks it up, that it leaves no impression at all.

The heroes in these games are fun to play as because they are powerful, and being powerful is awe-inspiring. It is cathartic to cut robots in half with a laser sword, as chunky pixel art blurts out all over the floor. It is a satisfying challenge that is just not available anywhere else.
