Stranded Deep has borderline wretched controls and has some crafting and survival mechanics that make the boy scout and backpacker in me furrow my brow in confusion. That being said, the game is fun and exceptionally rewarding!
Evan’s Remains is a simple, solid, and entrancing title. It is one of the better games that I have reviewed here and is one that I will heartily recommend to nearly anyone else. Now I want to look into whatever else this developer has made and will make.
Then again, when you find yourself trapped in an authoritarian government that makes peaceful protest dangerous, then maybe violence is the only answer. At least that’s what the Liberated believe.
Perhaps Oddworld Inhabitants and Nintendo were banking more on nostalgia rather than content for sales. Perhaps they only recently had the idea to rerelease this game. Either way, considering that they had twenty years to fix the issues, the result is disappointing.
Personally, I usually require a video game to have a compelling story or character development, or else I get bored, but Dungeon of the Endless was fun enough on its own that I could forget about my need for a narrative. However, those bugs that I mentioned effectively break the game, and I sincerely hope that Amplitude fixes them. I would love to play more without fear that the game will simply shut down on me.
If you are thinking about getting Arc of Alchemist, here is a bit of advice about playing it: Don’t.
Unfortunately, Kawaii Dethu Desu, despite its lovely visuals, is comparable to the free, mindless games that you might find on that virus-ridden website Addicting Games.
Players who pick up Moonlighter had best love both dungeon grinding and shop-based mini games. Ignoring the shop will only result in having to do so to progress and ignoring the dungeons will result in a lack of things to sell.
