You’ll definitely be transported back in time if you used to play any iteration of Pang so many years ago.
Although zones do look and feel unique, they’re typically rather bland.
If you know some people that are interested and can split the cost, or you just really enjoy rogue-like shooters, then Rogue Stormers is probably right for you. Unfortunately, it’s definitely not right for me.
For everyone else, it probably feels nice, but a little underwhelming in comparison to what is already available on Nexus.
As far as gameplay goes, if you've played anything by Telltale then you know what to expect: a story-driven game filled with dialogue choices, quick time events, and a bit of exploration.
Instead of feeling like a clever rogue, I felt like an errand boy moving from A to B just to complete the next task.
There's no way this will ever be a mainstream fighting game, but it's still a blast to play.
The only major disappointment with this add-on is the lack of anything new aside from the enemies and environment.
I just don't really see any need to make this game for an older audience.
There are plenty of interesting backstories hidden in tapes and memos, but as soon as you run into the few survivors connected to these, there’s a disconnect.
If you love an interesting story with some creepy sci-fi elements, then I highly recommend The Final Station.
If you’ve got the season pass, it’s worth it to pop into the multiplayer for a bit, even if you just want to try out The Harvester.
The artwork alone is a great example of what you can do in 2D space with Unity these days.
When some of your level design includes portal puzzles, you absolutely need them to look distinctly different from each other.
Warlocks vs Shadows is a fun indie game that has a lot of variety to offer, but falls short in important areas like online capabilities and replay value. If you have spare controllers and friends to play with locally, this could easily be a great game to grind through over the weekend and then boot up occasionally for some PvP action.
There's definitely room for a sequel, but I'm not holding my breath.
A good set of headphones or a full surround-sound system is highly recommended for Narcosis.
[D]on't let [the score] deter you if you enjoy other games like Spelunky or even Mark of the Ninja. If that's the case then The Swindle could quite possibly be just the game for you.
If you're a fan of the franchise or are just looking for a new tactics game, I wouldn't pass this over.
Ultimately, Back To Bed is just sorely missing content even at the already low purchase price. It's a great idea with some fantastic art and a few really cool puzzles… but that's it. If you enjoy puzzle games and like the aesthetic, then Back To Bed is still priced very well and worth your money. Not a lot of studios can really portray that surreal feeling, but Bedtime Digital absolutely has and their game stands out because of it. However if you're looking for a difficult puzzler that will take you longer than an hour or two, keep looking.
