The Fallout 76 Wastelanders update might be the salvation of the game. The free expansion finally adds NPCs to the world and adds a lot of new content. Bethesda also improved the graphics, in particular the lighting system. It's still not technically perfect however and the new additions come with their own problems. Still, the Wastelanders update is a giant leap for Fallout 76.

8 / 10.0 - Rage 2
May 13, 2019

The collaboration between id Software and Avalanche Studios has been successful by joining forces with the two forces of the studios. Thanks to id Software, the game has a rock-solid gameplay with various weapons and powers, and with Avalanche Studios' engine, the world has become beautiful, the color splashes off the screen, and there are many vehicles to use. That's why it's such a shame that the storyline is so short and has no surprises of its own, so the lion's share of RAGE 2 comes from the side missions and activities. What remains is a short, but powerful game that secretly could have lasted a lot longer.

‎Ubisoft Sofia has delivered such a big expansion with Dawn of Ragnarok that it can almost be seen as a new game. Especially since the story of Eivor does not continue, but rather the saga of Odin is told. During the approximately fifteen-hour story you will encounter some missions that feel familiar, but it should not spoil the fun.‎

With the next-gen version Rockstar has brought us the ultimate version of Grand Theft Auto 5. The graphics have been improved a lot, the loading times are much faster and the PS5-version even has a couple of features for the DualSense controller. The question, however, is whether you want to replay the same adventure again, as there is no new content, nor any improvements or additions to the gameplay. A version purely made for newcomers or true fans of GTA 5.

8 / 10.0 - F1 22
Jun 27, 2022

F1 22 can fall back on a solid foundation that Codemasters has further developed. The career modes are like a house and there is also plenty to do online. With the new options, a Grand Prix also feels a bit more realistic, especially if you put on VR glasses. So F1 22 is certainly not the revolution players might have hoped for, but for Formula 1 fans there's plenty to keep you entertained this year.‎

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the 40K-version of the Vermintide games and Fatshark delivers again a fantastic co-op experience. The combat feels visceral and meaty and is a true upgrade compared to the former games. There are however a lot less classes, even though they all feel unique. Some features are clearly removed during production, so hopefully they will get added next to more classes. Fatshark has already released some updates, so the future is looking bright for Darktide.

8 / 10.0 - Just Cause 4
Dec 10, 2018

Just Cause 4 is the perfect example of what Just Cause is. The action is over-the-top and amazing, but the story is really thin and missions get repetitive. If you love the explosive gameplay however, you are set for a perfect vacation.

8 / 10.0 - Call of Cthulhu
Oct 30, 2018

Call of Cthulhu is an interesting retelling of H.P. Lovecrafts famous story. The game mixes aspects of detective- and horror games and does it well. Fear plays an extra factor as well throughout the story. The fun only gets spoiled by some small mistakes.

The Hidden Ones DLC continues where it left off and it's mostly more of the same, which is excellent if you loved Assassin's Creed Origins. We would have liked to see more variety and more beauty in the region, but it's still a must play for the fans.

8 / 10.0 - Watch Dogs 2
Nov 14, 2016

Watch Dogs 2 has learned from the mistakes that Watch Dogs made. It has an interesting cast of characters, the city is full of colour and the smartphone is used well. It has some flaws however, but those don't take too much away from the experience.

Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is a good first expansion for ArenaNet's MMO. The new Elite Specializations and The Revenant are interesting. Maguuma is an awesome place, too bad there weren't more areas to explore.

8 / 10.0 - Redfall
May 2, 2023

However, the adventure can get quite lonely if you play alone, especially because of the not memorable characters. And while the world can be atmospheric and eerie, we do miss the finish we've come to expect from Arkane. If you are looking for a game that offers fun alone or together with friends (but no strangers) then you have come to the right place at Redfall.

Land of the Morning Light is a change of pace for Black Desert, but it works pretty well. The folklore stories are beautiful and set players up for the endgame-system, altough new players don't learn a lot about combat. The new area is also beautiful, with traditional Korean architecture and gorgeous sceneries. And the expansion is free for all players!

8 / 10.0 - Starfield
Aug 31, 2023

Starfield is a Bethesda RPG in every sense of the word. It offers a large, rich and intriguing world, filled with sidequests and a mysterious main story. The possibility to enter your spaceship and explore the galaxy and fight space pirates is really fun. It has however a few strange bugs, the graphics can change a lot and firefights miss something extra. We’re certain though that RPG fans can easily spend hundreds of hours in Starfield.

The Side Order DLC adds an interesting new mode to Splatoon 3. The Tower of Order is surprisingly challenging and the gameplay is diverse with color chips to change your playstyle. However, we would have liked to see some more variation in challenges and boss fights, which makes the randomized floors feel the same a bit too quickly. For the price however, Side Order is a must-have DLC for fans of Splatoon 3.

The final episode of Legacy of the First Blade is a worthy ending to the DLC. It has an exciting, although short, story and interesting dialogues with other characters. The episode also adds a new ability, but doesn't shake up the gameplay in any way.

7.5 / 10.0 - Anthem
Feb 22, 2019

Anthem is an ambitious project and it paid off for BioWare in some measure. The gameplay is spectacular, the story is good and has a challenging endgame. But annoyances sometimes spoil it and it's up to BioWare to fix those problems for the future.

Shadow Heritage continues the style set by the first episode, with a new Order to hunt down, a continued story with Darius and his son/daughter and new goodies te play with. The new Order isn't as intimidating however and the story-area is quite small.

7.5 / 10.0 - Impact Winter
May 30, 2017

Impact Winter has loads of interesting gameplay elements that blend perfectly together and create a good experience. The tension is excellent as well, but it often gets ruined by annoying bugs. The game also suffers from really bad keyboard controls.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood offers a lot of new content, just like previous chapters for the popular MMO. The storyline and new region feels a bit less special than heavy-hitters like Elsweyr and Summerset and the expansion doesn't offer any new classes and skill lines. It's not a bad chapter, but it's by far the weakest expansion for ESO so far.
