Nintendo wanted to push on the accelerator and go all-in. Tears Of The Kingdom succeeds in a feat I thought impossible: improving, expanding, and in some ways overshadowing a production of the caliber of Breath Of The Wild. Explaining in words how this new chapter was able to consistently surprise someone who dissected the previous chapter for hundreds of hours was not easy but, if you are not part of those users who want to look for the rot where there is none, my only advice is to play it, enjoy every inch of it and hope that this new journey never ends. Nintendo has once again set standards for a genre, and never before will it be really hard to top it.

9.5 / 10.0 - Dreams
Feb 17, 2020

If analyzing a completed art form can be a complex undertaking and that obliges to take into analysis different specific elements ... making a judgment on the instrument to generate that specific form of art, could prove to be a challenge, almost, impossible. Dreams, however, manages to give a mere development tool, a form that embraces different playful and social aspects, giving life to a software able to unite developers and players together allowing the former, or anyone who wants to take this path, to give life to their fantasies, and the latter to be able to access a library, almost infinite, of multifaceted productions that show the inspiration that this media can generate in its fans.

9.4 / 10.0 - Elden Ring
Feb 23, 2022

Elden Ring is the point of arrival, and departure, of all Miyazaki's productions prior to Sekiro. Where Sekiro was that butterfly born from a chrysalis called Bloodborne, Elden Ring picks up the important gaming heritage of Demon's Souls, matured over the years, to transplant it in a context at the same time new and familiar to fans of the genre. Elden Ring is not the classic open world but a Soulsborne that violently bends the rules of open world games to its will, defining new standards for the genre that cannot be ignored in the years to come...neither by future open world titles nor by the next Souls-Like productions. You can undoubtedly question the choice to reuse assets already seen, and overdone, in the past, as well as it is obvious that the general performance of Elden Ring are not among the best currently in circulation, but in practice, when you immerse yourself in the vastness of the Interregno, the only truth that comes out is that From Software, as it did in 2009, has once again overturned the rules of the game.

As reiterated several times by Nintendo, Animal Crossing New Horizons is an "ode to relaxed gameplay". The new chapter of the famous Life Simulator series, in fact, shows a natural evolution of the excellent game mechanics offered by its predecessors going to file and improve a series of aspects that began to feel the weight of the years.

In our review of Death Stranding Director's Cut we put aside the big words because once again we needed to explain, explain and explain again its indecipherable gameplay, as well as the introduction of the new gadgets and tasks released with the Director's Cut. Whether you only discover it now, or you decide to upgrade from the previous version, Death Stranding remains an experience that, regardless of your personal taste, is valid, important and destined to remain lucid in the memories of those who will trust it, for a very long time. Almost as prophetic as the brilliant Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Sam Porter Bridges' journey westwards, despite some unnecessarily brainy and drawn-out sequences, remains profound and filled with messages and social themes too powerful to be ignored, which first pass through the gameplay, with the efforts required of the player, and then culminate in a genuinely moving final sequence. We will not begin, as practice would require, to justify at any cost the high rating that will surely be making someone turn up their nose, but if you are tired of the usual experiences, and want to experience on yourself something really new, try Death Stranding ... and trust that never as in this case, a gameplay on YouTube just will not be enough to make you understand what you're about to meet.

9 / 10.0 - Sifu
Feb 7, 2022

Sifu is a rare gem that deserves to be discovered, tried out and evaluated subjectively by the widest possible pool of users. Just like our experience with Returnal, we find ourselves in front of a product that, besides marking the maturity of its development team, departs from all those clichés indispensable to grab the largest number of users and stands only on its originality and on the skill of its creators in packaging a title that does not give discounts and does not compromise. Sifu is a collection of genres that come together in a satisfying game, punishing in some ways but never unfair. It's a celebration of beat 'em ups, and martial arts cinema, adorned with a distinctive and inspired artwork that exudes style from every pixel. We're sure it won't appeal to everyone who tries it, but it's only right that it should, to avoid a general flattening of the experience that titles like Sifu want to keep varied and, above all, original. For all these reasons we have decided to give Sifu our Award.

9 / 10.0 - Cuphead
Apr 19, 2019

The conversion of Cuphead for Nintendo Switch shows the care with which the ports should be performed on Nintendo's hybrid console. Condensing the evaluation of a production like the remake of The Legend Of Zelda Link's Awakening, with a simple vote is, at times, demeaning towards the work itself.
