8 / 10.0 - The Quarry
Jun 13, 2022

The Quarry is simply a perfect return to a horror atmosphere that Supermassive knows how to do so well. It's by no means a revolutionary masterpiece, it still has some historical flaws for the studio, but it's a well-executed homage to a horror genre that still has weapons to show, if used wisely. It was not an easy task, but The Quarry managed to give us an unforgettable stay in the woods, with plenty of choices to go through and relive over and over again to delve into its well-hidden mystery.

4 / 10.0 - Babylon's Fall
Mar 7, 2022

Babylon's Fall is simply a nonsensical title that conceptually could have worked and at times seems to, but then the predatory and currency-locked design comes into play and ruins the whole experience, if not completely nullifies it. This is literally a "Pay 2 Enjoy" title, meaning that in order to enjoy the best armour, aesthetics and rewards the only way is to either pay or agree not to do so and be fobbed off with armour recycled from Final Fantasy XIV (and at this point we'd recommend spending the money on that). We don't know how long Babylon's Fall will go on, but the only way to at least save the game will be to remove the premium shop completely and put its rewards in as drops for major tasks, then maybe Platinum's Games' tried-and-true rhythm will keep a loyal niche.

8.5 / 10.0 - Disco Elysium
Oct 24, 2019

Disco Elysium brings the promised RPG revolution, and you can be sure of that. The narrative is layered, complex and divided into two macro levels that analyze the story, the society of the setting and the delicate psychology of a destroyed mind, also leaving the player the task of building the interiority of the alter-ego in the way he prefers.

God Eater 3 is a blast. It has all the charisma of an action-packed anime and the gameplay that we all know and love. It is a great restart of the series, which proves that this franchise could work very well on home consoles, maybe even better than its portable predecessors.

6 / 10.0 - Darksiders III
Nov 26, 2018

Darksiders III is a desperate attempt to keep something alive on the verge of death. Although the plot is quite interesting and Fury one of the most characterized knights, the gameplay is far from enthant and innovative, indeed it is a step backwards. The new direction taken by Gunfire Games for the game mode is unconvincing, giving space to structures that do not go well with the philosophy of Darksiders. Moreover, the new ideas have not been even remotely realized with hindsight, creating several problems both in the design of the levels and in the general balance of the enemies and contents, except for the beautiful boss fights.
