Having finished OU more than once, it is a beautiful and worthwhile experience if you are looking for a game focused on its art and plot, with relaxing, uncomplicated gameplay. There is also to consider that it is a bit pricey for the hours you can get from it. But if you do get it, get through all the endings to get the most out of it.

Liked-a-lot - Pathfinders: Memories
May 22, 2023

Pathfinders: Memories is an exceptional game that successfully gives the player a short yet challenging and relaxing experience. It may have some facts the player did not know about and bring some challenges as well with more complex difficulty. For its low price, it is a worthwhile game to pass some time.

When playing Shukuchi Ninja, it would feel more like a mobile game. It could be because it is similar to an improvement of Angry Birds’ mechanic of fling or because it would fit with a touch screen feature. Still, it does bring an interesting concept to the consoles. Even though it can be entertaining for a little while, it didn’t hook me like other high-paced platformer games do. However, some may feel challenged by mastering the controls of this game and becoming an expert in playing Shukuchi Ninja.

Loved - The Wreck
Apr 4, 2023

The Wreck is a captivating game that is unique in its own genre. It made visual novels much more accessible for everyone, including myself. It brought a fantastic way into the light to explore and hunt for secrets inside their brilliant frameworks. The mechanics and artwork were spot on; other than that, the narrative is simply genius. The main factor was definitely the story of the worst day of Junon and all that surrounds and affects it. The way we slowly understand the complexity and sorrowful traumas, together with the overflowing emotions of Junon, is quite profound, not to forget the fascinating way it is presented in the game. I recommend this game not only for fans of the genre but for everyone to give it a go and discover something distinctive and significant.

Overall, My Little Prince – A jigsaw puzzle tale had some strong points in its favour, but in the end, it doesn’t end up satisfying as much as someone would want it. I can see some players engaging and enjoying a good couple of hours but not staying or trying with enjoyment the harder modes.

Overall, Tents and Trees is a great puzzle game that is both challenging and relaxing. The game’s simple yet effective design and intuitive gameplay make it accessible to players of all skill levels. It is nothing very new, but at the same time, what it does, it does it well. WHALIEN – Unexpected Guests is a game that does only a few things but does them quite well. It plays well, looks good, and offers an enjoyable adventure. That being said, it is a very short game that can be finished in one, if not two, sittings. It lasts 2-3 hours, which can be a positive thing sometimes. It is perfect for a simple, enjoyable, quick experience or a free weekend.

Loved - Wavetale
Dec 11, 2022

Wavetale is a relaxing adventure game that will give pleasurable enjoyment to those who want to explore together with an emotional and hooking story. It is not a demanding game, in a good way. It is a short game that takes around 5 hours to complete, yet it can be more depending on how each player wanders across these oceans. This is what you are looking for in players who don’t feel they have much time to invest in playing or learning complex controls. It is relaxing, enjoyable, short, and fun, so check it out!

Liked - Togges
Dec 7, 2022

Togges is a 3D platformer that distinguishes itself from others innovatively while maintaining many familiar elements of previous titles, for example, games like Super Mario Galaxy or Pikmin. It is enjoyable and occasionally challenging to figure out how to move around on each planet, which is this game’s beauty. It is about uncovering secrets, finding collectables, mastering the different behaviours of the diverse Togges, and exploring the vast depth of the cosmos. The story has its moments but wasn’t as hooking as expected. However, the colourful textures and vistas make it attractive to the eye, and in terms of music, SFX is quite good (Some funny screams of the Togges take the prize here). Overall it is an entertaining game with a fair amount of content to explore and exciting mechanics to play with.

Liked - Oakenfold
Nov 17, 2022

No matter the issues or unpolished aspects mentioned before, Oakenfold deserves praise for its entertaining blend of mechanics. Regardless of the lack of depth in the story, or the elements that could still be improved, this game has much to offer and might be what players from this genre are looking for. Its gameplay is very well thought out and has many ways to challenge the player. For players who enjoyed games like Into the Breach, this might be for you.

Space Tail: Every Journey Leads Home is distinctive in quite some ways. The way this game reflects such an inspiring concept that gives homage to such deserving animals is excellent and worthy of applause. It comes from a sad reality that most animals did not make it back when sent to these missions. Yet, Space Tail: Every Journey Leads Home paints a fantasy of bravery, courage, and a deeper understanding of self-exploration, be that in outer space or within yourself. Other than that, for platformer enthusiasts, this game will not fail you, as it is pretty challenging with its puzzles and exploration features. For players that enjoyed the series of Ori, games like Limbo or similar titles, this might be for you as well.

Yomawari: Lost in the Dark may be similar to its predecessors, but it is an improvement in its mechanics and delivers a fantastic experience in every aspect. It is a fun, scary, emotional, deep, sad, and aesthetically beautiful game, which can trigger some, but it also has much to say. The experience is quite whole and more than entertaining, giving achievers plenty of collectables during and after finishing the main game. For horror players who enjoy games that are not only about battle but puzzles, exploration, and a grand narrative, this game is for you.

Kitten’s Head Football’s mixture of flaws and joys made me perplexed. Even though the game has many things to improve, it is undeniably entertaining to play in the background or with someone else for a few matches. Sadly, it does get old fast and the quantity of content is not that much. Of course, Kitten’s Head Football’s price is not that high, still, be aware if you are planning on getting it, because of the lacking factors it has.

Dr Kobushi’s Labyrinthine Laboratory is not one of many in its genre. It is not another game inspired by classics that came to give a replica of their gameplay and story. Precisely enough, it was described as a combination of Pac-Man and Chess, and I did feel that, but also much more. It had those references that brought some type of comfort and sudden giggles. It had numerous surprise factors in every corner I stumbled upon. And it is without saying, that the narrative is brilliantly written, humoristic yet deep, delivering rich personalities with a good plot behind it. I can without a doubt highly recommend this game to all puzzle and strategic types of players, and for all of those who might not love this genre as much, I can still suggest you give it a go and challenge yourselves to something new. Even experienced players might find themselves stuck and scratching their heads with these dungeons, and some new players might have an out-of-the-box approach to puzzles that seem impossible. Even accessible for kids, it’s a very well-made game. I can’t wait to complete it myself and reveal all the secrets it has to offer.

Disliked - Lair Land Story
Sep 9, 2022

I felt uncertain about how to feel in many situations. Just when I thought that I had picked up a game that was going to make me emotionally invested, it ended up confusing me most of the time. Another aspect that influenced my view of Lair Land Story was the sound. The voice acting had volume and tone issues. That alone would have been forgiven, if not for the combination of an overwhelming amount of stories, interruptions within Chilia’s schedule and various text lines. During each turn, it isn’t often clear what to do or where to go to continue the stories you want to follow. It is about guessing which places to visit to hopefully find the character you are hoping to find. Maybe some players of this audience will enjoy it as it does feel somewhat like a classic in its genre, but my experience with it was more confusing and upsetting rather than enjoyable.

Please, Touch the Artwork has its limitations, which probably will be received differently by players, but the audience of these types of games will surely find enjoyment in this one in particular. With intuitive and creative mechanics, beautiful jazzy atmospheric music and engaging narrative, this game offers you a delightful experience that few puzzlers do. Other than all those factors that I just mentioned, the aspects I valued the most in this game were the Educational facts, quotes, stories and its inspiring method to inspire others. Want it or not, modern art has an effect on our society and influences our surroundings. Art will do that and more. If you enjoy artistic/ puzzle games, relaxing no-pressure challenges or you simply are curious about art but not into physical museums, I invite you into this worthwhile experience.

Liked-a-lot - Rite
Aug 25, 2022

Almost everything in Rite feels good. Sadly, the only thing that didn’t keep me very hooked was the music. It does have good tunes and a cool soundtrack but once you are in the later levels and start getting stuck for a while, the music can become repetitive. Other than that, the fact that it doesn’t bring a story or deeper plots is irrelevant, considering that it has amazing gameplay, smooth controls and follows a good flow of progression with its difficulty. For all those achievers, platformer aficionados or simply any gamer looking for a challenge, this game delivers what you are looking for, presented in a simple yet attractive way. It is easy to learn, hard to master and for its price you will be getting what you pay for and even more.

Damien (Captain Velvet Meteor) is a very likeable protagonist. Even though most games like this one can turn out to be simplistic with their mechanics, Captain Velvet Meteor: the Jump + Dimensions delivers its tactical strategy gameplay smoothly and engagingly. This game “fun” comes from many aspects, but I would like to remark on its narrative and how the whole concept is built. Moving to another country, that has such a different culture, food and even time zone, is something tough and more for a kid. This game makes an adventure in every situation Damien had to adjust to his new life abroad. It also leaves an important mark with each level that is as enjoyable for an adult as for a kid that is going through something similar. I highly recommend you play this game, especially for strategy and tactic lovers and even more for people who are moving or moved to a different country and struggled to adjust.

Running on Magic is definitely worth its price and more. You can beat the whole game quite fast and then you still will have harder modes plus an endless mode to hone your timely jumps and skills. As mentioned before, its visuals and sounds won’t disappoint you and believe me, for those who love the challenge as much as I do, here you will also get that. The running wizard’s silent personality and the Grim Reaper’s peculiarities are hilariously amazing. This game fills in every aspect you need if you have a little time to spare and are looking to feel temporarily entertained. I highly recommend it and hope you enjoy it, I surely did.
