Resident Evil: Requiem has proven to be an extraordinarily polished and thoughtful work, capable of celebrating the series’ legacy while simultaneously pushing it into the future. Capcom has managed to achieve a rare balance between pure dread and adrenaline-fueled action, offering fans a rich, layered and memorable experience. Whether or not it can be called the perfect chapter, we are undeniably faced with a milestone in the genre and one of the franchise’s greatest achievements. If survival horror is still in such fine form after thirty years, the credit goes entirely to exceptional titles like this one.

Edens Zero, much like Fairy Tail 2, is a missed opportunity. Once again, Mashima's works are not made accessible, and Edens Zero seems to be half-ready in pretty much everything: despite an engaging combat system and a faithful recreation of the anime's characters and story, its technical aspect leaves much to be desired. It's basically an empty game, with dull scenarios and little to no interactivity, and this makes this barely sufficient game hardly enjoyable by more casual fans.

Konami brings back some of the oldest Yu-Gi-Oh! games, and does so by adding some much appreciated QoL features and focusing on creating a sort of digital museum, but the positives end here: this collection does not add anything of value to games that deserved to be modernised instead, allowing them to become more accessible to newer fans. Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection does the bare minimum, while asking a premium price for it.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins is arguably the best Musou game ever. It masterfully blends the series' gameplay staples with classic RPG mechanics, while still retaining an impressively detailed story and expanding its contents to unprecedented levels, both in quantity and quality. Omega Force and Koei Tecmo managed to craft a new beginning for this niche genre, both for newcomers and veterans, which is only hampered by the proverbial repetitiveness of Musou games.

Fairy Tail 2 is a dated and uncompetitive game in this market for the average gamer, but the gameplay manages to mix turn-based RPG elements and real-time combat sufficiently well, making long confrontations enjoyable.
