Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a beautiful experience. Noticeably struggling from a technical point of view, it still manages to impress with its gameplay, sincerity, messages and some of the most emotional scenes I have seen in a videogame in recent years. These features were vastly misunderstood by the public, but the truth is that, similarly to the protagonists, I’m not going to forget the Events of ‘95 that easily.

The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- is one of the most complete title on the market, having a great narrative, with top notch storytelling and character development, while also having a fun, albeit repetitive and not really well tuned strategy element, while also having a great and unique 2D artstyle. A game every Visual Novel fan should play once in their life.

Monster Hunter Wilds is the beginning of a new era for the legendary Capcom franchise: through its many and appreciated gameplay changes, its surprisingly interesting story and its wild variety in the monsters roster, Wilds manages to be a great game both for newcomers and returning fans. The main issue with the game lies in its flawed technical aspect, something you either have to overcome with a powerful machine or just ignore: while it's still certainly worth it, it's a cause for concern.

Infinite Wealth is a bold, immersive, and thrilling addition to the series, a must-have for fans of both the franchise and Japanese RPGs. However, while being still narratively enjoyable, it doesn’t really stand out as much as the rest of the game. Ichiban truly deserves the role he had in the previous chapter, but Kiryu ends up overshadowing him: RGG clearly doesn't want to let him go, and his presence almost feels like a burden.

Saying that this remaster brings back a genre classic would be unfair: the choice to use the script that is widely regarded as the worst version of the original masterpiece is very unfortunate. The redeeming qualities of this remaster, such as a decent localization and a good restoration work on the assets, are overshadowed by its main flaw, worsened by the continued use of Uchikoshi's name during marketing, despite him having little to no involvement in this version.

Konami brings back some of the oldest Yu-Gi-Oh! games, and does so by adding some much appreciated QoL features and focusing on creating a sort of digital museum, but the positives end here: this collection does not add anything of value to games that deserved to be modernised instead, allowing them to become more accessible to newer fans. Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection does the bare minimum, while asking a premium price for it.

It was never a masterpiece to begin with, not now, not 25 years ago, but Never7 deserved more love. It's the game that started the Infinity series and gave an identity to Uchikoshi's career, and despite its core flaws it's still a shame to see it being revived with little to no effort: what we get is a mixture of low-quality assets, localization issues and technical shortcomings.

Avowed is a true Obsidian RPG: it's narratively solid, easy to learn and combat-focused. It's unexpectedly pleasing to the eye and it features an improved level design, leading to an intricate and beautiful map that is also fun to explore. What Avowed lacks is polishing and interactivity: its world is very static and its technical aspects leave much to be desired.

Albeit not perfect, Trails Through Daybreak 2 is still a solid entry in the series: it's innovative, full of content, it has great characters and it brilliantly reiterates all the saga's features we know and love. Its weaknesses lie in the nature of the title, which does not provide many answers lore-wise and instead functions as a sort of transitional stage leading to Kai no Kiseki.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins is arguably the best Musou game ever. It masterfully blends the series' gameplay staples with classic RPG mechanics, while still retaining an impressively detailed story and expanding its contents to unprecedented levels, both in quantity and quality. Omega Force and Koei Tecmo managed to craft a new beginning for this niche genre, both for newcomers and veterans, which is only hampered by the proverbial repetitiveness of Musou games.

Fairy Tail 2 is a dated and uncompetitive game in this market for the average gamer, but the gameplay manages to mix turn-based RPG elements and real-time combat sufficiently well, making long confrontations enjoyable. It will succeed in pleasing at least loyal fans, who will be able to relive the events of the Alvarez Empire arc.

Indiana Jones And The Great Circle is one of the most sincere and wholehearted love letters the gaming industry has ever done to the film one. MachineGames has managed to craft an experience that is both very faithful to the original and compelling to play: it's unexpectedly deep and narratively entertaining, so much that it's easy to forgive its many technical shortcomings.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is a pleasant little game that manages to impress in some aspects, such as its pretty graphics and fun gameplay, but fails to be convincing enough in other. Its biggest flaw are its repetitiveness and its overall lack of depth, and it fails to be as good as other LEGO games of the past.

With Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, Square Enix adopted a conservative strategy, modernising a milestone in the JRPG genre without trivialising the original experience. This results in a fresh-yet-classic title full of charming visuals, quality of life enhancements and things to do, allowing both new players and veterans to enjoy this timeless masterpiece.

Sonic X Shadow Generations is good enough for its price, because it bundles two great, albeit not flawless, experiences. It's a must have if you are a die-hard fan of the blue hedgehog, but it also serves as a nice introduction and re-introduction to the saga for those who have yet to set foot in it and for those who have not done so for a long time.

Red Dead Redemption, many years later, is still a wonder to play and explore. Despite making zero changes to its gameplay, apart from the much appreciated inclusion of the Undead Nightmare DLC, Rockstar successfully manages to bring back the good old memories of this exceptional game thanks to a very stable port, giving everyone the chance to experience the tale of John Marston.

Black Ops 6 is a good Call of Duty game. It's neither revolutionary nor perfect, but it manages to be convincing enough in almost every aspect: it has a good single player campaign that lacks a bit of depth and the Zombies mode is fun for a few hours, although its maps get boring quickly. PvP is the main deal as always: the real game changer is the all-new Omnimovement system, which allows for more lively and frenetic battles and represents a new beginning for the Call of Duty franchise as a whole.

Despite not having the same poetical storytelling that made Gris stand out, Neva is still a truly unique experience: it has a meaningful art direction and better gameplay mechanics than its predecessor, it's a wonderful example of experimental game design and, most importantly, it's a really important portrayal of nature, life and death. Another must play from Nomada Studio.

Vessel of Hatred is an excellent expansion for Diablo 4, with a starting price tag that reflects the content offered. The new class, the Spiritborn, is versatile and makes gameplay more various. The story, new region, and music are well done, but the Dark Citadel endgame activity is the real highlight. This expansion appears to be just the beginning of a series of high-quality content for the game.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is an incredibly fun and polished fighting game: it's beautiful, it has nice animations and, above all, it's an highly entertaining title, good for both Budokai Tenkaichi veterans and new fans alike.
