Amazing Weekend 2: Search and Relax 2 Collector’s Edition is yet another generic hidden object game. While it is nothing groundbreaking or unique, if you like the genre and are in the mood for some stressless fun, this game might be the one for you.
Doodle Harmony Idle Merge was a pleasant surprise for me – usually, I wouldn’t say I like idler clicker games and would have lost interest quite quickly. This game was engaging enough to make me stick until I unlocked all 100 doodle levels, and I imagine I might just go back to it at some point for some relaxing and still fast-paced fun.
If you are a fan of building games, Diorama might be the game for you. It offers us the chance to build and decorate interiors and exteriors in the same cozy pixel style. Honestly, what’s not to like?
Mirthwood has the makings of a very good life sim game. It heavily reminds me in the best possible way of Echoes of Plum Grove, another fantasy life sim RPG that I reviewed this year. If you love crafting and adventuring, the freedom to choose your own path, a beautiful and unique art style, great music, and attention to detail, I think you’ll love Mirthwood.
If you are in the mood for something really (really!) short or on the hunt for easy Steam achievements- 100 Hidden Cats: Kitty House might be the game for you.
While Pawsome Hidden Cats: Kittynawa doesn’t offer anything genuinely new and spectacular to the genre, it’s still a fun and cozy game to play, especially with the colder months coming. Gemcraft Games, keep them coming!
Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy is another fun addition to an already great series of games. The characters and the world of Trine are familiar, yet they always find new ways to engage us, and I hope we see more from the world of Trine.
Twistingo: Blue Moon Collector’s Edition is a pleasant addition to the Twistingo games. While it’s nowhere near groundbreaking, it offers a few hours of casual fun for fans of the hidden object games.
If you are an old fan of the series, I doubt there is much to say to dissuade you from playing Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged. There isn’t much reason to dissuade you anyway – it was done with evident appreciation and affection for the original games. If you are a new fan and this is the first time you are meeting George and Nico, well, you are in for a treat. Considering there’s yet another remake coming, based on the second game in the series -, this Autumn is shaping out to be great for adventure game fans!
Farewell North is one of the more impactful and emotional gaming experiences I’ve had in recent years. The journey of the border collie, the bond with its human, and the struggle to find its way home all create a deeply emotional narrative that stays with you for a while and will probably bring a tear or two to your eyes. If you like story-driven adventures that tug at your heartstrings, you should definitely consider playing this game.
Stray Cats in Cozy Town is an excellent free addition to the hidden cats genre. It is easy, relaxing, and has a noble cause, so what’s not to like?
Hidden Cat Memories is another pleasant addition to the hidden cats genre, providing enough content to keep you busy.
Sunset Hills is a charming and cozy adventure that takes us on a train trip around the world, with memories, people, and stories to discover. If you like adventure games and train trips, you’ll love this game as much as I did.
Hidden Cats in Jigsaw Puzzle is a fun addition to the series. If you like puzzles and the artwork of the original games, you’ll like this one as well.
Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse is a beautiful conclusion to a fun and classic point-and-click trilogy. If you are a fan of the games, you’ll love this one. If this is the first Sam & Max game you try, you might also pick up the others.
The Star Named EOS is a short but memorable point-and-click adventure full of emotions and hope. I can’t wait to see what its developers will create next.
Love, Ghostie is a very cute and cozy game. It is somewhat short but has a lot of replayability potential. We have 12 characters to mix and match, which makes for up to 65 potential couples and storylines. With its pleasant music and cute characters, as well as skip dialogue options, it makes for a very relaxing and fun afternoon playthrough
Été is a relaxing painting game with a summery feel, gorgeous visuals, and a lovely soundtrack. It feels perfect for this ridiculously hot summer when the best thing we can do is stay inside and wait for the heat wave to pass. But you know, it will also be perfect for the cold months when we need a reminder of what summer feels like.
Nancy Drew: Mystery of the Seven Keys not a perfect game, but it’s a welcomed and awaited sequel to a great detective game series. It certainly improves on the previous game, Midnight in Salem, and we can only hope the next game will be even better.
Magical Delicacy is easily one of my best games this year. I can’t think of anything big that I didn’t like, and I look forward to playing it again.
