Project Motor Racing is one of the worst releases of 2025. A racing game released at the price of a big-budget title, it is in worse shape than some games that are released in Early Access. Tragic optimization, hopeless AI, poor graphics and UI, and the lack of a visual damage system are some of the most important elements that drag this game down to failure.

Kirby Air Riders is a racing game packed with tons of content, but the gameplay itself could have been better. However, if you don't mind the strange decisions regarding the controls, you'll find a game here that was created with passion. If you're someone who loves to max out games, you'll be in heaven here.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is a very good action game that should be a must-have for fans of The Legend of Zelda series. The game nicely fills in any gaps left by Tears of the Kingdom, adding depth to various characters and many events mentioned in previous games. If you need an action game that will make you feel like a real boss, this is a good choice.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is a very strange combination. A decent multiplayer mode and a fairly interesting zombies mode are dragged down by the worst story campaign in the entire series. If you like the multiplayer mode of this series, it's worth checking out this game, but definitely not at the current price, because the overall experience is definitely not worth buying.

The Outer Worlds 2 is a solid game that I can recommend to any fan of sci-fi RPGs. Obsidian has done a great job here, and it's definitely a step up from the previous installment in the series. Of course, it's still far from perfect, but you can see that the team is gradually learning from its mistakes, and hopefully they will bring the series to perfection as a trilogy.

Painkiller is, unfortunately, a huge disappointment for an old fan of the series – such as myself. A great arena shooter with a dark atmosphere has been reduced to a co-op shooter without any soul or interesting ideas. Unfortunately, despite the nicely crafted locations and good overall artistic vision, many mistakes were made in the design of the gameplay itself.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a perfectly decent game, but it needed a little more planning and better ideas. The new combat system works very well in many cases, but in some cases it fails completely. The plot itself is quite schematic and follows a repetitive pattern throughout most of the game, which works to the detriment of this game. However, overall, it is not a bad game by any means, but simply contains elements that needed modification or improvement.

Keeper is an enjoyable adventure for evening gaming sessions. It presents a simple plot that can be interpreted in many different ways and does not give us a clear explanation. Combined with an atmospheric soundtrack, it could be one of the biggest surprises of the year, but this beautiful impression is unfortunately hampered by technical problems and issues with the controls and camera work. However, it is clear that Double Fine has not lost its unique spirit.

Hades II is the perfect sequel. It retains all the best elements of the original and improves on them, while adding more content, storyline, and expanding the entire universe. Once you get caught up in the loop of trying to defeat Chronos, it's very hard to break free. However, I hope that Supergiant Games will end this wonderful series in the form of a complete trilogy, because these stories definitely deserve it.

SILENT HILL f is definitely not the best installment in the series, but of course it's not the worst either. The game has many good elements, such as the script, puzzles, and overall atmosphere, but the quality set by these elements is hampered by a weak combat system, terribly designed battles, and the loss of the initial atmosphere from the beginning of the story. It was nice to see something completely new in the SILENT HILL series, but I think sticking to the titular town made more sense.

Borderlands 4 is, unfortunately, a big disappointment, which, despite changing the formula, has neglected many important elements. The plot is formulaic and predictable, and while the gameplay is an improvement over its predecessor in many ways, in many cases it is a complete step backwards. I won't even mention the technical state of the game, because it's just sad. Unfortunately, my expectations have not been met.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is a sequel that definitely did not disappoint and stood the test of time after a long wait. Team Cherry has delivered a unique game that will remain in my memory for years to come. It is definitely one of the best adventures I have experienced this year, and I eagerly await further adventures from this exceptional group of developers.

Lost Soul Aside is a perfect example of wasted potential. Great combat is unfortunately not enough to make a good game. Virtually all other elements of the game are relics from 10 years ago or are simply poorly made. It's a shame, because the game had enormous potential and looked very good in the previews, but it's perfect proof that nowadays we can't take anything for granted.

Dead Take is a very good cinematic escape room with elements of psychological horror. Great acting, a well-crafted atmosphere, and interesting puzzles make for an interesting departure from Surgent Studios' first title. I hope the creators don't abandon this direction and stay with the horror genre in their future productions.

Donkey Kong Bananza is a successful comeback for the most popular gorilla in gaming history. Excellent platforming combined with a lot of destruction in a nice visual setting is a good start to this comeback, and I hope Nintendo will continue to use DK instead of leaving him for another 10 years. Of course, the game isn't perfect, and monotonous boss fights, poor optimization, and material fatigue after a while can take their toll.

Persona 5: The Phantom X is an intriguing start to a long adventure that will stay with us for years to come. It is a production that fits very well into the atmosphere of the Persona series and builds on what Atlus has created over the past few years. It is also the perfect appetizer before the upcoming remake of the fourth installment of the series and Persona 6. Personally, I am sold and will be actively following the adventures of Wonder and his friends.

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is a pleasant game to play for an hour or two, but the longer you play, the more boring it becomes. The longer you play, the more repetitive it becomes and you realize that there is no real idea behind the core gameplay. Not to mention that the game requires additional accessories to complete it 100%. One thing is certain. This should never have been a paid game.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master is a game with potential that it failed to fully exploit. There are a lot of good elements here, but it's clear that a lot is missing. Die-hard racing game fans will find it fun, but beginners will simply get bored. Gaming Factory put a lot of heart into this project, but unfortunately it didn't deliver in all aspects.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the perfect launch for Sandfall Interactive. It is a phenomenal game inspired by cult jRPGs with a huge and emotional story whose characters stay in our memory for a long time. Adding to this a great combat system, a beautiful game world and very good gameplay gives us in combination a big candidate for game of the year.

South of Midnight, despite interesting previews, has unfortunately become a slight disappointment. The game offers an interesting story, which unfortunately falls apart in the middle of the game, and then picks up again at the end of the adventure. An abysmal combat system and very good platforming elements provide us with a rather uneven experience, which unfortunately falls short of the growing competition in this area of the video game industry.
