Date Everything is the blandest game imaginable. Visually, there is little to criticize. The character designs are polished, aesthetic, and cleverly reflect both the characters' personalities and their “object” identities. Add to that an impressive list of over a hundred voice actors, many of whom are well-known and respected names. Unfortunately, where the game should shine, i.e., in building relationships and character personalities, problems begin to arise. The characters are expressive, but often flat and uninteresting in terms of personality. They do not arouse curiosity or emotional involvement. In my case, and perhaps this is a matter of individual sensitivity, none of the characters aroused any sympathy. On the contrary, many of them were simply impossible to like. On top of that, there is a very weak main storyline, which, instead of providing an interesting counterpoint to the dating convention, remains an awkward addition that fails to hold the player's attention.

The plot, though far from light or pleasant, is truly engaging, and completing it leaves you with a feeling of existential emptiness. The gameplay itself, though seemingly simple, is addictive and very satisfying. It is impossible to remain indifferent to The Alters. At the moment, it is one of my favorite “smaller” titles of the year, which I can recommend to everyone with a clear conscience.

Objectively speaking, this is a really solid production which, although not without its flaws, such as wasted open-world potential and a somewhat confusing set of available characters, still does many things well. It looks very good, sounds phenomenal, and is technically flawless. There is a lot of content available at launch, and the design of the world and routes is impressive in its ingenuity. This title will certainly find its fans, and it can liven up more than one party. It is one of those games that I think is appreciated not so much for its depth, but for the lightness and joy it can give to the right person at the right moment.

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is a pleasant game to play for an hour or two, but the longer you play, the more boring it becomes. The longer you play, the more repetitive it becomes and you realize that there is no real idea behind the core gameplay. Not to mention that the game requires additional accessories to complete it 100%. One thing is certain. This should never have been a paid game.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master is a game with potential that it failed to fully exploit. There are a lot of good elements here, but it's clear that a lot is missing. Die-hard racing game fans will find it fun, but beginners will simply get bored. Gaming Factory put a lot of heart into this project, but unfortunately it didn't deliver in all aspects.

The Precinct is a game that is definitely worth giving a chance. It is not an outstanding title that will be forever etched in our memory. It has a lot of imperfections and even more bugs, but underneath this layer of problems is an enjoyable and addictive gameplay. I had a really good time, and I don't rule out that in the distant future, when all the bugs have been patched, and maybe we'll even see some kind of expansion, I'll be happy to return to this title.

DOOM: The Dark Ages is, for the moment, the best first-person shooter of this year, and I'm afraid that few titles will be able to threaten it in winning the well-deserved awards. It's a phenomenal game that I recommend to any fan of dynamic FPS games. While I love Eternal and it will remain in first place in my heart for a very long time to come, I can't escape the fact that its new, youngest brother is treading on its toes.

As a fan of foxes, I couldn't wait for the release of Spirit of the North 2. So it pains me all the more that it's one of the biggest disappointments of this year. It's a game that's just bad, and what's worse, it's becoming more and more difficult to bear with each passing hour. It's a production that's poorly optimized, unstable and full of ill-conceived or non-functioning mechanics. The first installment may not have been perfect, but it had its own identity and a clearly defined vision. The same cannot be said of the sequel.

Amanda the Adventurer 2 is simply more of the same. Unfortunately, also in those aspects that needed improvement. Disappointingly, there's a step backwards in terms of the freedom to solve puzzles, and the horror layer is even less effective than before. Nevertheless, the analog atmosphere continues to impress, the puzzles manage to engage, and the story continues to effectively mess with your head. I had a good time, although I hope that with the third installment, the developers will finally decide to take some bold steps forward, instead of staying in the same safe position in which they were stuck after the success of the first.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the perfect launch for Sandfall Interactive. It is a phenomenal game inspired by cult jRPGs with a huge and emotional story whose characters stay in our memory for a long time. Adding to this a great combat system, a beautiful game world and very good gameplay gives us in combination a big candidate for game of the year.

The Talos Principle is one of those games that I love to return from time to time. The moment I put my hands on Reawakened, I felt like I was in seventh heaven. This is the best and most complete edition of this game. It contains not only the basic story and the Road to Gehenna add-on, but also introduces a brand new, interesting adventure with extremely challenging puzzles. However, if someone still couldn't get enough, they can always reach for community-created levels. And all this in stunning visuals that could be the envy of many high-budget games. The Talos Principle: Reawakened is a must-have for fans of the series and all lovers of puzzle games. However, it should also be of interest to those who are looking for something fresh, yet remarkably good.

Spirit of the North will not revolutionize the industry, it will not change your view of games or the world, but it manages to provide an enjoyable evening. Even if it will be accompanied by some inconveniences in places. You'll play it, you'll have quite a bit of fun, and then you'll probably quickly forget about this game.

Atomfall is quite an enjoyable game, which will not reach unknown heights, but there will be people who will have fun while playing. You won't find anything unique here, but it combines several familiar elements into a rather fresh mix. If you are a fan of British themes and can turn a blind eye to a few problems then Atomfall will be a tolerable adventure for you.

South of Midnight, despite interesting previews, has unfortunately become a slight disappointment. The game offers an interesting story, which unfortunately falls apart in the middle of the game, and then picks up again at the end of the adventure. An abysmal combat system and very good platforming elements provide us with a rather uneven experience, which unfortunately falls short of the growing competition in this area of the video game industry.

Koira is an inconspicuous game, short and full of shortcomings, but at the same time charming in its own way. Although it tries to move and build emotional depth, it often does so too artificially, thus failing to get where it should. The gameplay is sometimes schematic, and some mechanics are more annoying than engaging. Still, it's hard to deny the developers' ambition - it's clear that there's potential for something bigger hidden here.

Assassin's Creed: Shadows is a game that I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone, even despite a few technical flaws, a couple of decisions that weren't quite right or an uneven storyline in places. To be honest, I had a great time with this title, and I'm absolutely sure that in the next few days I'll be unpacking everything I still have left. Assassin's Creed: Shadows is one of the best Assassin's Creed games in years, and undoubtedly the best representative of the RPG era ushered in by Origins. For the first time since Assassin's Creed II, I sincerely hope that the developers won't abandon the new direction so soon and that we'll see a continuation of Naoe and Yasuke's story.

Split Fiction is one of the top candidates for Game of the Year 2025, I have no doubt about that. It is a great blend of genres that surprises you with something new and innovative at every turn. Josef Fares, after the great It Takes Two, has done it again and delivered one of the best experiences of the year.

Avowed is a pretty good RPG that is limited in places by its technical state. Nevertheless, it was a very enjoyable adventure from a standpoint of gameplay and storyline alone. Obsidian definitely knows how to make games that players want to play, but they still need to work on the technical elements, because in this case it could have been polished more.

Nevertheless, it's hard to escape the impression that Sniper Elite: Resistance is one of the laziest games I've encountered in recent times. It's OK, but nothing more than that - it gives the impression of empty sequel, a production in which neither heart nor passion was put. It's a game created at low cost, just to spend something and make money on fans of the series. Yes, you can have fun with it, but at the same time it disappoints on almost every level.

Eternal Strands could have been one of the biggest surprises of the year if the gameplay had been more polished and had a bigger budget. In terms of story and characters, this is a great title that is overshadowed in places by an underdeveloped combat system, grindy elements or some ill-conceived systems. If you are a gamer who plays mainly for the story then it's definitely worth trudging through this game, but if gameplay comes first for you then you can definitely wait for a sale.
