Watch Dogs: Legion - Bloodline injects new fun into the vanilla game, but stumbles a bit. Returning characters improve the narrative, but this DLC add-on lacks the base game’s free-form, squad-based action.

Watch Dogs Legion is a better game these days, and Bloodline manages to build a stronger narrative out of its various mechanics and gameplay systems. It's more of the same under the surface, but playable characters Aiden and Wrench bring new enjoyment to the core campaign and evolving online modes, while simultaneously padding out the series' overall lore with their own storyline.

Bloodline expands on Watch Dogs Legion's London, with new missions, returning characters, and a slightly different setting to explore. While it doesn't add much in the way of new features, it's the perfect reason to come back to the Old Smoke and give it the middle finger once again.

Watch Dogs: Legion - Bloodline is a shallow narrative expansion, with a good storyline undermined by a lazy structure and the choice of giving far less importance to London, which was the best element of the original game.

Watch Dogs Legion: Bloodline tries to be a love letter to fans of the series by bringing back two iconic characters as the protagonists, but in doing so, it removes the one gameplay mechanic that made Watch Dogs: Legion so memorable. Without characters to study, befriend, and recruit, Bloodline is a more watered-down open-world experience than the base game it's tied to. Worse is the fact that it doesn't expand on the base game at all. With no new regions to explore, activities to engage in, or gear to unlock, it's a pretty barebones package overall.
