Critic Reviews for Alveole

But as the Switch has no internal achievement system, I don't think players here will derive much enjoyment from Alveole's core gameplay. However, if you're looking for something to drift away with and maybe get some of your thoughts in order, I think Alveole could be a meditative experience that may present you with some new insights or relief. That particular wheel may keep on spinning long after the experience is over.

Alveole is an interesting experiment that comes in at an appealingly low price. It’s a formula that I can see clicking with some gamers whilst equally frustrating others. When you eventually dissect the experience and unlock its mysteries there is very little reason to return. But it may be a title you want to hand to a friend or loved one to see what they make of it. Alveole feels like the type of experience you would usually find at an exhibit in a museum. Only here do you get to enjoy it in your own home. It’s a hard one to rate for sure but I can’t deny I kinda liked what I got to experience here.

Alveole is described as an experimental project that elevates one mechanic to the fullest. After reading the summary, I still had no idea what the game would entail, but watching the trailer, it looked like a puzzle game. After exploring the mechanics, I found that the title focuses on the mundanity of being inside a hamster wheel while showing prior moments in the character’s life. Did it make for a good project? Find out in this Rapid Review.
