It’s a hard task to create something that pays homage to a beloved work, as no matter what happens it will always be compared to that original piece, often unfavorably. Against these odds, UnMetal manages to straddle the line of being both a parody and an exceptional example of a top-down stealth game more than able to stand up to such scrutiny. While the game’s inspirations are obvious, it’s the fact that it also stands out on its own merits which makes it special and worth playing for anyone longing for a retro experience or clever, enjoyable writing.

The best homage of all times, a perfect mix of humor and good design, which makes parody an art form.

UnMetal is a top tier game from a low tier developer. This is some fantastic work from @Unepic_Fran and I can not wait to play the next game from him. UnMetal earns the highly coveted Thumb Culture Platinum Award from me. Fantastic work dude!

UnMetal is a 2D stealth action adventure that pays homage to the classics with a dose of humor and satire. We play as Jesse Fox and we will have to use our expertise to get out of any situation and eliminate our enemies. The game is essential for Metal Gear fans, since it also comes with a most charismatic dubbing and will keep us entertained for approximately 8-10 hours. It is not especially difficult, but in its final part we will find a difficulty peak that will make us stealthily for as long as possible.
