Trifox Reviews
Even if it's not very original, Trifox captures its influences so well that it carries with it a lot of residual charm. It's not going to make you forget the games it's borrowing from, but it's a solid enough entry in the genre that if you miss those games, you could do a lot worse than trying it out.
Trifox definitely have some great ideas in mind and the idea of mixing a Twin Stick Shooter with a Platformer could be a fantastic project. Unfortunately the game feels like they just placed both mechanics and called it a day, instead of try and merge them in a fun or different way.

Trifox aims to be an homage to the great 3D platformers. The Glowfish Interactive production succeeds in the task for long stretches, thanks to a good personality, excellent level design and interesting customization of the protagonist. Unfortunately, some technical problems and in the play formula, as well as a below-average longevity for the genre, prevent us from rewarding the title as we would like. Do not despair, however: it is an adventure that will satisfy you.

If you’re looking for a platformer that goes beyond just jumping from A to B and just collecting stuff, then Trifox will test your brainpower and allow you to fight waves of enemies with twin-stick shooter elements. With an addictive upgrade system and a beautifully illustrated nostalgic feel to the entire package, it is a game I genuinely really got sucked into and wanted to complete. With a dozen or so hours at a reasonable price point, it is well worth a punt.
