The Pirate Queen: A Forgotten Legend Reviews
The Pirate Queen - A Forgotten Legend is an underwhelming game not worth your time. Its barebones gameplay and unmotivating storytelling failed to entertain or excite, and its disappointingly short runtime only disappointed me further. The story of Cheng Shih is a fascinating one that more people should become aware of, but this game does her legacy little justice.
The Pirate Queen: A Forgotten Legend isn't very long, and while it's not massively exciting, the story is still worth checking out.
I can see the value of The Pirate Queen: A Forgotten Legend as a great introduction to a specific slice of cultural history. After all, what young person doesn’t like pirates? Though they might be disappointed by the absence of Jack Sparrow, Cheng Shih was a formidable character and leader. For older, more experienced gamers spoiled by the likes of Asgard’s Wrath 2, The Pirate Queen will probably feel like an action-adventure downgrade.
While I really appreciated Lucy Liu's voice performance, The Pirate Queen ultimately tells only a small piece of Cheng Shih's history without delivering compelling narrative or gameplay.
