Baladins

Critic Reviews for Baladins
A fun local and online single-player and multiplayer combat-free choose-your-own-story RPG on Switch
Baladins is a unique and feel-good game that keeps you engaged and excited while exploring this adventure with your friends. The fun of the dice rolls and improving your ability scores through activities and challenges, combined with the cute and fun TTG elements, makes this game a joy to play with friends. The potential for expansion on the original story is high, and multiple copy bundles would enhance the experience even more.
Baladins is a very fun new twist on the choose your own adventure genre. The game looks very fun and cute and the many stories you can discover each have their own challenges. As a player you are really rewarded here for reading, discovering, talking and looking around. It also certainly helps that the story with the dragon is full of surprises and a round does not take too long. This way you can quickly play the game for fifteen minutes to see if you can make any progress. The finish is very neat and with a few small missing details here and there, there is little to complain about. I hope that we see this concept in many other themes and topics. If you like role-playing games, stories or puzzles then this is definitely a game you should play.

Baladins is a breath of fresh air. Its board game inspired playstyle, coupled with branching dialogue and open quests, allows me to explore and experience it at my own pace. Adding the ability to play with up to three other people makes it feel like I’m sitting around a board game with friends. The loop mechanic adds an interesting element, refreshing the board every six turns, but it never became troublesome, as the game offers plenty to explore and do. I highly recommend this game for those who love board games and are looking for a new experience with friends during your weekly game night sessions.
Baladins is a delightfully enjoyable game. Though I don’t think every gamer will enjoy all the backtracking and the rewinding of time, the storyline is fun. If you like turn-based roleplaying games that you can play with your friends, then give Baladins a try.
Baladins is creative, charming, and sweet, but the gameplay structure just fails to be compelling.
Baladins knows what it wants to be: a digital tale you can read over and over again. It lets you try new things, laugh at strange quest results, and slowly figure out a mystery that keeps looping around. Are you ready for one more roll of the dice, or will you accept the reset, gather your trust tokens, and finally trick the dragon?
