Kaya's Prophecy

Critic Reviews for Kaya's Prophecy
Kaya's Prophecy is a simple and short deck builder game, with fun tribal village theming that moves the story along. This game isn't for the intensive gamer, but rather for a quick and frivolous break from life. Uncomplicated and silly, Kaya's Prophecy would make a great introductory game for anyone who wants to learn more about this particular style of gaming.
Kaya’s Prophecy is an incredibly unique game, combining two familiar genres to create a title that’s greater than the sum of its parts. Deckbuilding and colony sim enthusiasts alike should find something to enjoy in this very special game published by the Yogscast team.
The biggest problem with Kaya’s Prophecy is that it doesn’t feel like it adds anything new to the genre. While this didn’t feel like a waste of time, it isn’t something that many may be quick to return to. Some of the elements are familiar but not as well executed as games that have come before it. At times, Kaya’s Prophecy feels like a love letter to the genre, at others, it feels a bit like a student project.
It bills itself as a mash-up of Slay the Spire and Stacklands, but it doesn’t really add anything to either of those games beyond a tribal motif.
Offering appeal to both fans of deck builders and city management, Kaya's Prophecy is a fun but short blast with a cute art style that’s more than deserving of your time.
