Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings Reviews
Casual and silly yet still tense and exciting. It's a shame there's no online multiplayer.
Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings sits comfortably between being an inviting arcade-style romp and a serious baseball simulator. It's easy enough to get into the swing of things, but there's plenty of depth for those looking for a baseball video game to invest in.
Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings is a delight to play.
What I can't understand though is that games that scream online multiplayer don't always get the online functionality, and if online was added here it could have turned this good game into a fairly amazing one. Regardless, Extra Innings is a solid game to sit on the couch and play with some friends and family as you'll have fun doing so.
Super Mega Baseball is a great throwback to the baseball games I grew up with and loved. It is the perfect couch multiplayer game with friends, I just really wish online play was part of the package. For anyone who has enjoyed the classic arcade-style baseball game in the past, the genre is finally back to its original, fantastic form. Do not hesitate to pick up Metalhead's latest no matter which console you own.
Metalhead is successful in bringing quality baseball to the console, but Super Mega Baseball has a few shortcomings that keep it from becoming a standout game.
While it may lack the MLB license, Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings provides an MVP-caliber experience thanks to its satisfyingly sound gameplay and charming presentation.
Xbox One owners finally have a baseball game that is worth playing.
Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings is a fitting way to round out the baseball season and a great excuse to invite friends over for some local multiplayer action. While another mode and online functionality would've made this package an absolute grand slam, the core gameplay is so addictive and well-executed that it's hard to think of it as anything less than a home run.
