Critic Reviews for Dicealot
A fun, but deeply flawed title that leans too heavily on its random mechanics.
Dicealot is simple to get the hang of, but has a lot of depth for those who want to master it. This dice-based roguelike game will certainly have you coming back for a second or third game, but I'm just not sure if there's enough here to keep you hooked for weeks to come.
Dicealot is easy to learn but incredibly hard to put down, with compelling risk reward moments in every battle and a Farkle around every corner.
If the developers tighten the dice descriptions and polish the shop readability, this could stand among the best dice-builders out there. As it stands, it’s still one of the most engaging examples of how luck and skill can dance together in perfect rhythm.
Dicealot is a beautiful paradox: simple to play, yet capable of infuriating complexity the longer you roll. It’s brimming with charm, clever mechanics, and fantastic art direction, even if its repetition eventually dulls the shine. The missing polish around merchants and progression holds it back from true greatness, but when the dice start rolling in your favour, there’s nothing quite like it. It’s the sort of game that’ll have you swearing one minute and cheering the next, a cycle that’s all too easy to get lost in. It may not save Camelot, but it’ll definitely steal your evening. Dicealot gains the Thumb Culture Silver Award.
