Orbyss is one of those puzzle games that reel you in with its simplistic visuals and easy gameplay mechanics, but you quickly start to realize the logical aspects of its puzzles. Orbyss starts simple but gradually increases the puzzle difficulty while unlocking more mechanics for you to play around, and it looks beautiful while doing it. The visuals are simple yet impressive and feature just the right amount of colors and aesthetics to keep you interested. It does not overwork in visuals to counter its simple gameplay design, and that is what really sets Orbyss apart. If you love playing puzzle games that not only look great but offer puzzles that tickle your brain in the right places, you are going to love Orbyss. Highly recommended for players who love simplistic puzzle games where gameplay and logic go side-by-side.

When it comes to Orbyss, I found the game to be incredibly fun from start to finish; even though I found myself struggling with certain puzzles, the rush I felt after completing them was fantastic. The world of Orbyss is something that stood out to me, as it didn’t rely on massive, showstopping scenery but just relied on simple beauty that could capture the attention of any gamer. One of the best parts of Orbyss is how it is friendly to all types of gamers, thanks to its accessibility and hint features that provide players with enough guidance to progress through the game, if they need it at all.

Orbyss proves less is more, with a snappy runtime filled with decently balanced puzzles and continuous new ideas to keep things fresh. A slightly more robust hint system would be great for when players need it, but otherwise Orbyss comes with a hearty recommendation if you’re in the market for a few evenings of puzzle goodness.

Orbyss is a calm, clever puzzler. If you want a low-pressure puzzler with tactile controls, smart mechanics, and a mellow atmosphere, it’s well worth your time. Play it in short sessions as a brain refresher, or binge a few chapters when you need a soothing mental workout. For something made by a solo developer, it’s an impressive achievement. A free demo is available on Steam to try the game out first.
