Clean Up Earth has a genuinely charming environmental message, a relaxing painted style, and the appeal of large-scale co-op cleaning. However, its repetitive loop, thin story, limited mechanical depth, and somewhat steep price make it feel more like a pleasant curiosity for relaxed simulator fans than a fully engaging cleanup adventure.

Clean Up Earth is easily one of my “podcast games”- I load up a podcast or an audiobook and start the game. It is a beautiful, vibrant game, but unfortunately, the inability to skip levels or at least have a hint system if you get stuck means you might not be able to finish it. Still, if you are willing to take that risk and you need a new, relaxing, and satisfying experience that doesn’t involve cleaning in real life, Clean Up Earth might be the game for you.

Clean Up Earth is a project with a heart of gold, but its mechanics are fragile. The idea of combining relaxation with real-life activism, transforming in-game progress into actual donations to NGOs, is laudable and gives the title exceptional educational potential. However, stripped of its noble purpose, Magic Pockets' game struggles to compete with the genre's giants. Crushed by a lackluster aesthetic and sound, and weighed down by gameplay that quickly becomes repetitive, Clean Up Earth is an adventure that risks quickly tiring solo players, finding its true meaning only when played cooperatively or as an educational tool.
